XMp3 Review

New little quirk with the xmp3, deleting a recording from the unit does not delete it unless you use the usb. I got a message yesterday that my unit was full and to please remove some recordings. I checked it portablely , and I had 2 recordings on my list. When I plugged the USB into it, it had tons of stuff that I erased still on there.

Crazy.
 
I got one more question and that's it I promise :). What formats does the MP3 player part of it support? I am a Mac user so AAC support is a big thing for me...

Unfortunately no ACC format support!

MP3 and WMA fixed bitrates: 32, 48, 64, 96, 128, 160, 192, 256,320 kbps

MP3 and WMA variable bitrates: 64-128, 128-256, 160-320 kbps

Damn. At least iTunes makes it easy enough to make my songs into mp3s, transfer them, and delete the copies afterwards.
 
Someone here earlier wanted to know if you could play the xmp3 live in the dock without the antenna. The answer is no, the check antenna message appears.

The question was actually will the XMp3 continue using the built in antenna if the dock loses power?

You could be right, but either way, but will it continue to get a signal via the built in antenna or the external. I am going to put money on the fact that you'll get the no antenna message. But hopefully I am wrong!

This would be the 1st XM radio with such a feature that I am aware of.

Well hopefully TheOne will let us know tonight! It is a curious question and you've got me wondering now DAWG! :)
 
In the inno car dock, if you lose power to the dock the antenna will work under the inno's battery power if you manually switch on the inno. It won't do it automatically. If it's in dock but no external antenna is connected it will not use the inno's internal antenna.

Does the xmp3 have this feature also or is it like the skyfi3 where you can't power the unit on by battery power in the car dock? The inno is great for recording since you can shut your car off, turn the inno on and record under battery power. You can't do a scheduled recording but at least you can record one channel for the next 4 hours or so if you choose.
 
Does anyone know if the scheduled recording allows for playback while it is still recording. I use this feature all the time on my stiletto. I'll set the recording and start playing an hr or two later from the beginning. The recording will continue for 4-5 more hours. Basically I'm behind longer than the buffer.
 
You guys are going to force me to get one of these and a boombox. Then I'll have my SkyFi3 and RoadyXT and their accessories collecting dust.
