My guess it will be fixed in a firmware upgrade. The only question is will the firmware upgrades be done on an XM schedule which is when needed or a Sirius schedule which is once in a blue moon.

The SL2 has had a memory corruption bug since it came out. The last functional firmware update was in February. There was one in July when they did a channel update. There will probably another one to cover the changes done this week. This one may come this month.

How does satellite radio expect to compete with iPods, mp3 players, and internet radio when they do not take care of their current products?

Let me clarify before you guys rip each other's heads off :D

I have a pair of old Sony walkman speakers laying around for when the power goes out (barely ever happens). I'll hook them up to my Inno and run it off of the battery. It is completely capable of sitting in its dock and receiving the XM signal without an external power source. The Stiletto, on the other hand, when it's external power is removed, plays stupid and pretends like an antenna isn't connected to it. I want to know if the XMp3 will also receive from the home antenna without power.

Does that clear it up? ;)

Hey now, IRBS is my buddy, we are just two ole dawgs that growl at each other every now and again, but you separate us and we wouldn't like it very much. He was one of the first folks I invited to DRC. :p

Honest Snakester, I can't say for sure, but based on my experience with my Inno I would say it should work without a problem. Maybe someone who actually has one right now can answer that for you to be sure.

Just go buy the darn thing already! hehehe :yesshake:

AMEN, you are so right! It amazes me that Sirius thinks they can just let support for the devices slide for months at a time and in some cases just never bother to fix the issues at all.

It's a definite I'm buying it, I just can't afford it right yet. Believe me, if it was in my budget I would already have it, the thing is damn sexy :). Either next week or the week after I'm gonna pick it up, and I'll do my own mini-review of it with all sorts of pretty pictures;).

Well I can hardly wait for you to get it. I look forward to you getting it and doing your review. You are going to love it, I can tell you that already. It is a better than the SL2 I can tell you that.

Hell if it was EQUAL to my SL100 I'd be happy. The inno's a great radio but it's just starting to show its age, and now that my stiletto's inactive, I'm really starting to notice its shortcomings (no buffer, scheduled recordings aren't coherently organized, the new channel logos being too big for its display)

DAB and I are good. He just needs to be put in his place every now and again. :)
 
Does anyone know if I buy this radio, can I add it to my existing Sirius account as an additional radio?

I ask this question because TSS sells this now and there is no mention that you must have an XM subscription instead of a Sirius one.

I'd hate to buy it and then find out I'd have to buy another 15 dollar a month sub.
or 17 with best of sirius.

The short answer and this quesiton has been answered at least 10 times in recent days on the forum ;) NO you can't! Their billing and activation system are separate and can't communicate with each other.

DAB only 10 times... Well thank you for the 11th. I was just surprised that Taylor does not have any mention of this fact on the order page of this radio.

They probably have not thought much about this question. I am sure he will see this thread. But the reality is while they have merged their music channels and even some talk and entertainment, there is just no way they can currently do the multi-radio discount across the different systems. Hopefully this is something they will do in the future.

I think TSS-Radio has 3 XM tuners right now; Skyfi3, XMp3 and Inno.
