Windows 7 is so freakin' stable I doubt you'll be needing much help with it. I've been using it since the first beta.

I've actually gotten a good number of blue screens from Windows 7. I just blame it on my build. I'm using 7100 still.

Have you tried MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials)? I've installed it on one of my machines and so far, I think it's the best free anti-virus out there.

It protects you from viruses, trojan, spyware, and rootkits. Absolutely free and it uses very little resources. It's very lean.

AVG is also good, but it's very bloated and can eat up your system's resources (which can bog your system down when you're doing work).

LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!! OCTOBER 22!!! hehehe

Per Hex's recommendation I tried the MSE and I must say it is so, so much better than the old stuff that MS had previous. OneCare and Windows Defender. I never had them find a single thing, but MSE really seems to finally be up to par with AVG, AVAST and it is free too.

MS filed my download order last night at 2:45 AM. I never got an email though and still haven't. But I did go to the Microsoft Store Site and sure enough the downloads were available as were the keys for installation. SWEET!

Servers are running fast too well at least when I downloaded it they were! :)

Anyone else get their copies today?

Maybe Hex needs to start a installation thread since he is our Win 7 guy!

I'm holding out for the military discount.

Also, looks like there's several different versions (home/pro/etc)... any suggestions on which is better (or most useful for standard computer use) and why?

Best thing to do is go to MS web site and compare the versions, it is very well laid out what the differences are and then buy the one that fits what you need.

I'd dare say most will probably be okay with just the home version.

I got all my copies at half price! Should have jumped on it back then!

I wasn't going to mess with Window 7 until I heard from a lot of people that it was good. After travesties like millennium and Vista, I'm a little hesitant to give up on XP.
