It was called Mark's Showplace in Bedford NH. Now it's called Millennium Cabaret (according to Google). A local promoter started booking national acts there. I opened for Prong, Drowning Pool, Misfits (without Danzig), Powerman 5000, Ra, Nothingface, Skindred, 10 Years, Nonpoint, God Forbid, Silent Civilian and other nationals there. It wasn't pay-to-play, but it was an agreement to sell a minimum amount of tickets to our fans to offset the cost of the national act. If he paid the national $5000, he'd have a few opening bands each sell $500 in tickets. The bands could keep the money after selling the minimum. So $20 a ticket, sell 40, give him $500 keep $300. I thought it was a great deal - and great exposure.Which one? Perhaps I was there.
