Sadchild's "high fives" (every artist I like at least five songs from)

Papa Roach

Genre: nu metal, heavy rock

Discovered: don't remember but it was "Last Resort" (like the rest of the world)

Other: Four great songs on their first album (2000) then nothing great again until 2017.

HIGH FIVE:

1. Dead Cell
2. Last Resort
3. Periscope
4. The Ending
5. American Dreams

Pat Benatar

Genre: hard rock, rock and roll, pop rock

Discovered: probably FM, probably "Hit Me with Your Best Shot".

Other: Prefer her rockin' stuff, not into the Tropico (Pop-ico) or bluesy stuff (True Love/Gravity's Rainbow)

HIGH FIVE:

1. Love Is A Battlefield
2. Hit Me with Your Best Shot
3. Hell Is For Children
4. Invincible
5. Shadows Of The Night

up next.... Pat Boone!

I've seen her play a few times. She still belts it out.
The last time Pat and Neil (hehehe) did the show with the Toledo Symphony. It was cool and different, but I like the more rockin stuff bore too.

Patti Rothberg

Genre: pop rock, indie rock (fits well with Scotch's list of indie rock girls). USA Today called her first album "a mix of urban folk and full-tilt rock".

Discovered: CMJ, same disc I discovered Primitive Radio Gods from.

Other: Pretty much a fan of just her first album (there's only a couple other songs of hers I like). Already told the story of when I went to see her perform but the gear never made it (snowstorm). A local TV station (I think it was WNDS, same one with "Weather With Al") used #2 below in the background while showing slo-mo clips of classic films with famous actresses. I thought it was a pretty creative way to promote their movie nights - memorable. However, there seems to be no record of this on the internet.

HIGH FIVE:

1. Inside
2. Looking For A Girl
3. Between The 1 And The 9
4. Perfect Strangers
5. Change Your Ways

Paul McCartney

Genre: rock and roll

Discovered: don't remember

Other: I think his best album is the one that came out in 2018. My top two below are from it.

HIGH FIVE:

1. Confidante
2. Come On To Me
3. Queenie Eye
4. Say Say Say (with Michael Jackson)
5. Coming Up (Live)

Paul Westerberg

Genre: pop rock, indie rock, folk rock, AC

Discovered: knew Replacements already.

Other: Love his two songs on the Singles soundtrack, like his next two albums. Nothing after that has grabbed me.

HIGH FIVE:

1. Dyslexic Heart
2. Waiting For Somebody
3. Love Untold
4. All That I Had
5. Someone I Once Knew

Paul Westerberg
He wasn't too bad. I liked dislesskit hart, but don't know much outside of the Replacements.
Pearl Jam
Same same. Burned out on a lot because of FM, and can't get into the sappy ballad stuff. Like I've said before, they are a lot more effective when they are angry at something. I guess it's hard to stay angry when you're filthy rich.
Pet Shop Boys
I still like these guys the best out of the 3 bands you just listed.

Peter Bradley Adams

Genre: folk, americana, singer-songwriter

Discovered: podcast, "For You"

Other: I want to see this guy live next time he goes to Club Passim in Boston. It's an intimate venue that serves food while the artist performs.

HIGH FIVE:

1. Hey Believers
2. We Are
3. For You
4. The Mighty Storm
5. Good Man

Peter Wolf

Genre: pop rock (often with a blues influence)

Discovered: knew him from J Geils

Other: Don't mind a few of his 80s hits, but primarily I like his 1996 album Long Line. All five songs below are from it. Heard "Rosie" (#2 below) one time on an FM station, bought the album, and still love it. Saw him live that year with Marshall Crenshaw.

HIGH FIVE:

1. Goodbye Is All I'll Send Her
2. Rosie
3. Break This Chain
4. Sky High
5. Long Line
