I was in my bathroom and thinking about how hot it is in there. It has an AC vent but it doesn't do enough.

It's summer down here and will be until November. This past week we started getting our first days in the 90s and that will not let up.

So I was thinking the bathroom is the hottest room in my place. I keep the door closed when I'm not in there cause that helps keep the whole place slightly cooler overall. My guest bedroom is the coldest room but I never go in there so it's a waste. It's where I keep my golf clubs, putting green and Christmas tree haha.

So what is the warmest room in your house in the summer and coldest room in your house in the winter? For me it's those same 2 rooms all year long.

Scotch, you don't need to answer. We know that somehow the pantry is both. Cold when needed and hot when needed cause it's magic and perfect.

I've lived in four houses and one apartment – not all at the same time, of course – and in every one of them, the bedroom faced the west so it got all the afternoon sun. In each of those residences, the bedroom is the hottest room in the summer.

Just FYI, this week it's not going to get out of the 50s.

By far, my basement is always cool; between 50 and 60. The ceiling is insulated so the floor heat isn't wasted.

We generally keep our bedroom area colder, because we mainly use it to sleep under blankets. The heat is set to 62. In the main part of the house, it's set to 64 at night, and we have it at 67 or so in the day. The upstairs (where I work) is always a little warmer.

In the summer, we have the mini-splits for A/C, but the kitchen doesn't get as much airflow. Plus, cooking generates heat. So I'd say the kitchen is the warmest spot in the summer.

Yesterday was summer-like around the region. It hit 94 in some parts of the area. We got into the upper 80s, with lots of humidity. I did my first lunch-on-the-beach break of the year. It was in the 70s, with water temps in the 50s. I walked along the surf, but didn't go in. However, several people (adults and kids) were in the water. Kinda nuts.

This week is also the first week that the warm weather here and it seems to be sticking. It was in the mid-80s yesterday. Today it is in the 70s. But it is very smokey. They have a air quality alert issued. Smoke is from wild fires burning in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

The air has been hazy for a few days now and I could smell the smoke when I left work yesterday.

Ever considered that neither of those things are actually happening and someone may just be pulling a Batman Begins on you by putting hallucinogens in your water supply. Specifically your home's water supply as part of some long-term evil plan?

IDK....Just a random thought that has nothing to do with anything of course. Obviously no one here would have any idea where to get hardcore illegal drugs so what a silly thought of mine.

Nope.......I can't say that the thought has ever crossed my mind.
