We've reached the next-to-last episode in season 4 of Hacks (on MAX - HBO Max). And I have to say that - for a comedy - the show has the ability to be emotionally stunning, in a way that one can lose sleep from being so affected by the storyline. Season 4 begins with several hard-to-watch episodes; but again, the writers are not afraid to go long for a touchdown pass.

The show features the remarkable acting abilities of Hannah Einbinder, who's never had a major role before. And adding to all this, we just found out that she is the daughter of original Not Ready for Prime Time SNL cast member Laraine Newman. It all makes sense now.

We watched THe Night Manager on Netflix. It was a pretty good series.
It has Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, and that super skinny tall chick from The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Guardians of the Galaxy.

We watched Fountain of Youth with Jim from The Office. Meh.....It was OK since it was free.

Disney today released a truly bizarre preview of Zootopia 2, which opens in theaters on November 26.

They're changing the show inside the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom from A Bug's Life to Zootopia.

The first one was fun.

And I love this song. It has everything a Disney song needs, a really catchy tune and fun feel good lyrics. And it goes a step further and has super hot Shakira.

I usually listen to podcasts or Phish shows on my way to Disney but then when I get close I pop on Disney tunes and this one always gets me hyped.

Watching MobLand.
It's fucking great!

Tom Hardy
Pierce Brosnan
Helen Mirren

Brilliant.
I heard that was good. We're watching Sirens, which is a satire about an uber-rich family, with Julianne Moore. Ironically, Kevin Bacon plays a hedge fund billionaire. IRL, he was swindled by Bernie Madoff.

On HGTV, they started the new season of Ugliest House in America. They start out in the Midwest, mostly Ohio. Then they go to the Great Lakes, which was mostly Michigan. It's also available to watch on MAX (HBO MAX). BTW, they announced that soon, MAX will become HBO MAX, which is what it was before.

With my son home for the summer, and his love of Japanese food, language, music and film/TV, he has us watching Pantheon (2022-2023).

While action cartoons are not my thing generally, this one is really good. Instead of "AI", it's about "UI" - uploaded intelligence. They zap your brain and you live, as code, inside a computer.

Set in a world where mind-uploading technology is on the verge of mass adoption, it follows a disparate trio of protagonists: Maddie Kim, a grieving teenager whose father was uploaded without her knowledge; Caspian Keyes, a gifted teen unknowingly raised in a constructed environment; and Vinod Chanda, a brilliant computer engineer uploaded against his will.

I'm probably the only 'nerd' I know that doesn't do Anime, Video Games or D&D. As many times as I've had to explain all that to my co-nerd acquaintances I should have it printed on a t-shirt or something.

I have a date with my Sweetie this weekend, even though we live in the same house, to go see The Karate Kid Legends and that Phoenician movie with Michael Cera. Looking forward a nice Kiddie Combo popcorn
In Jerry Seinfeld's latest stand-up routine, he congratulates the audience for actually getting out of the house. "Everyone talks about going out... this is it! You've done it."

We liked Karate Kid Legends. I didn't think it was going to be good as they were saying it was not related much to Cobra Kai but it was really enjoyable.
We did not like the Phoenician Scheme. The previews looked like it would be strange but good. It just didn't turn out that way. We were schemed into going.

In the 1984 TV movie Little House: The Last Farewell, a land developer gains title to the land beneath the town of Walnut Grove and vows to evict everyone who refuses to work for him. All the townspeople leave – but not before dynamiting all the houses and buildings. In 2025, Walnut Grove has risen from the ashes.

A thread for all three.

We finished Sirens, and then caught-up to season 2 of Conan O'Brien Must Go; but that was only 3 episodes. Mrs. Scotch is begrudgingly watching "And Just Like That" when each episode airs on Thursdays, but she's getting closer and closer to bailing on that.

Most of what we want to watch is on AppleTV+. We signed-up for that several years ago, got to the end of some season of The Morning Show, and tried to cancel. It was hell, because we don't have an iPhone or any Apple device. We eventually figured out a way, but we don't want to go through that again.

However, we can now select AppleTV+ through our Amazon Prime TV app. So we're doing that now. We started with Shrinking, with Jason Siegel, which is excellent. There is something that may happen after we watch the 7th episode, requiring us to subscribe to AppleTV+. We'll try to figure it out when it happens. We have a big list of shows to watch, including Ted Lasso, Your Friends & Neighbors, and The Morning Show.

Also, I heard the new season of Somebody Feed Phil, the travel/food show with Raymond co-creator Phil Rosenthal, starts tonight.
