Windows 7

Thanks HEX that is slick as snot! I feel like I am using Mac OS X with my trash can on the dock, uh I mean taskbar! heheehe :p

That's what "Libraries" are for in Windows 7.

Here's what I do:

Hold Shift and right-click Explorer and click Properties

Under target, it will say "%windir%\explorer.exe". Insert a space and paste "::{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}" (without quotes), then click OK

Whenever you open Explorer, it will default to the Documents library.

I never use desktop space using this method (except for projects that are "on-the-fly").

Alternatively, if you want it to point to a specific folder on the drive, insert the full path name instead of the GUID I posted. (Example: %windir%\explorer.exe C:\HotAsianMILFs)

bah, I could have all of that organised in 5 minutes and the desktop would still be spotless.
 
I don't care what my desktop looks like. I only see it when I boot my box. After that, I'm staring at two 22" widescreen monitors full of whatever I'm working on.

Everyone has their own preferences for things! Some of us are organized and some of us aren't it is simple as that. I like to know where everything and that everything is in its place. This makes it simple for backing up and keeping data safe and secure.

Most people do use their desktop as a launching point for much of what they do. I for one don't want to have to hunt through a maze in order to do so.
