What's funny is I had cable before everyone in my neighborhood, perhaps even most people in town, back in 1982 (with a descrambler for HBO & Skinemax). But I watched movies, cartoons, sitcoms and MTV. Not much else.

Pretty much same here. Either movies or 30 minute sitcoms and cartoons

Some people feel that television is a waste of time for the bourgeois. I'm not one of them.
I don't watch a lot of Linear/Live TV beyond sports. I'll catch Jeopardy, CBS Sunday Morning and NOVA on the regular channels.

Most of my viewing nowadays is streaming services. YouTube TV, Amazon Video and Apple TV+ are my big 3 right now. HBO Max is doing slash and burn for the Discovery merger, and Hulu never really interested me much. Although 'Only Murders in the Building' looks like it might be worth it.

I have to be persuaded into watching tv shows. Somebody else got me into Simpsons, IT Crowd, Beavis & Butthead, Crank Yankers and Kominsky Method. Those might be the only shows I've gotten into since 1989.

I'm totally in favor of that. Normally the DC characters are stronger then Marvel. But the MCU kicks the DCEU ass all day long.

I could almost seeing this as a 4 different brackets as DC Superheroes, DC Villains, Marvel Superheroes, Marvel Villains.

or as you said DC superheroes vs. Marvel superheroes Madness

or maybe all mixed up tournament as?

Superman vs. The Hulk
Batman vs. Iron Man
Green Arrow vs. Hawkeye
Aquaman vs. Namor
the list goes on

That sounds like fun, but not for me. I'm into superheroes to the same degree sadchild's into popular TV. Which is to say, not at all.

Then I have another suggestion – and please don't tell me what I can do with it. We could vote for our favorite animated television series: Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Magilla Gorilla, Darkwing Duck, Rugrats, Futurama, Kim Possible, Dora The Explorer, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, The Critic, The Simpsons, Ren & Stimpy, Phineas & Ferb, Beavis & Butt-Head, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Little Einsteins, Rocko's Modern Life et al.

I like that idea, although I probably won't get much support for Felix the Cat, Winkydink, or Davey and Goliath in claymation.

Every episode of the 1958-60 Felix The Cat series ended with him saying "Righty-o" and laughing – and I never understood what was so funny. Here is episode #1:

In the past, the madness tournament use to be every quarterly months. In January is always the Celebrity Death Thread Madness and then in April, July and October.

Now I plan on expanding it to 5 times a year. January, March, May, July and September

I don't plan on including November. Usually the last couple of months are major holiday months and some of us may not be on much.

Since May will be Animated TV Shows.

I was thinking for July, possibly bringing back an old madness theme. Either songs, movies but they were released in a certain decade or maybe have another fast food tournament?

We could always think of another theme beside those.

I'll be gone for the last half of May. But we can work around that.

I'm thinking that after I come back, we should get ATW going again.

I have a suggestion for a Madness tournament – and please don't tell me what I can do with it: Most important inventions of the 20th century.
