Missed words. I just think his fake laugh is unwatchable. Only watched cuz that Johnson girl was on it.
It's a maximum suck-up kind of thing, like "everything my guest says is the funniest thing in the world". It seems like he wants everyone to like him. He's massively talented, but not a good interviewer, partly because of the fake laugh thing.

Carson was the opposite. People would do or say anything to try to make Carson laugh. And if he did laugh, it was genuine.

The Bikram Yoga place near me finally closed.

I guess his taint hair no longer cures leprosy.

There was a shooting last night in Fall River, MA.

Also of note, I didn't realize the son died before the dad.

All the talk from the show cast about Apple and how great their phones are bla bla bla...and all the talk from Jon Hein about TV shows jumping the shark.

When the hell did Apple jump the shark?

Their version of Wrapped is so better! Their algorithms are better!

If Steve Jobs were still alive, he'd be laughing all the way to the bank.

1984 my ass.

Howard: "I'm waiting for the day Siegfried & Roy get attacked by those tigers. I know they're gonna. They're gonna be mauled. And I'm gonna love it. Because they shouldn't have tigers in their house."

10/3/2003
During a show at the Mirage on October 3, 2003, on his 59th birthday, Roy Horn was attacked by a 7-year old, 400-pound, white tiger named Mantacore. After being introduced, Mantacore went to the front of the stage towards the audience, not as planned, and Horn tried to move him into place. After Mantacore bit into Horn's sleeve, Horn bopped the tiger on the nose with the microphone saying "no, no", and the tiger eventually released the grip. As Horn retreated, the tiger leapt at him, knocking him down. Mantacore then bit into Horn's neck and dragged him offstage, growling. Horn was finally released after trainers discharged a fire extinguisher to distract the tiger and jammed index fingers into its mouth. Horn barely survived; he suffered a stroke (either before or after the attack), severed his spine, lost a lot of blood and had permanent impairment to his motor and verbal abilities including partial paralysis on the left side of his body. The video of the attack taken by the theater cameras was never publicly released. While en-route to the hospital, Horn defended Mantacore, stating that he is “a great cat”, and wanted no harm to be done to the tiger; Horn claimed that Mantacore was actually trying to help him after the stroke. The show, which had a staff of 267 cast and crew members, was then shut down.

Peter Dinklage was on the 7/21 Seth Meyers. He's sitting on the couch and I'm wondering how good he is at rock and roll trivia.

Apparently, it was about six weeks ago when Bubba broke the story about Hulk Hogan being in the hospital and "not good". Representatives for Hollywood told him to shut up and the whole thing was fake and to stop trying to use Hulk's name to be relevant.

It turns out Sponge was right.

NBC Nightly News mentioned how Hulk Hogan "played a role in bringing down the website Gawker after it posted graphic video of him".

I guess that's one way to mention it.

They played a clip: "The jury agreed with me that privacy is something that we all deserve."

Yeah, I watched NBC Nightly News. And I wondered why Hulk was the headline story, when most big movie star deaths are mentioned at the end of the broadcast.

Same about Hogan. It seems the regular flow is:
Political/International
**Break**
Health, random, investigative, etc.
**Break**
Whatever isn't in the B-block.
**Break**
Feel-good story

They didn't even mention Chuck Mangione.

It's the same with all the late night shows
Monologue
**Optional break**
B-block
**Break**
Main guest part one
**Break**
Main guest part two
**Break**
Second guest
**Break**
Musical act
**Break**
Sign-off

The two big exceptions seem to be David Letterman who'd do about ten minutes of commercials (with a quick tease of the music) before the music and Seth Meyers who rarely has bands, but somehow still finishes a 1:37 timeslot somewhere around 1:25 or so. He comes back with a quick mention of how to get in the audience, but when he finishes with his last guest, that's it.

Some channels figured it out. If the show runs up until the last possible second, viewers aren't likely to change the channel at :27 or :57.

I've oft-wondered why they don't mix the shows up (SNL too) when they're on hiatus like what Howard used to do and still does. You never know what segment is next. (The exception being Mastertape Theatre which was a complete show.)

Imagine if replays of SNL were a mix of random musical acts and various skits. They could do away with some of the topical stuff since it's obviously dated.

I did notice how Inside Edition went a bit more into the Bubba sex tape Jones deal, but yeah, they're less afraid to go into the scandalous stuff.

On that subject, when SNL is producing shows, NBC plays a rerun at 10 pm (often last week's show). But it's a 1-hour slot (instead of 90 minutes). So they skip a few things, like 1 of the 2 musical performances, maybe edit the news, and toss a skit or 2. It's often a better show.
