So is lightning just like a major occurrence of electro static discharge? Or am a big dummy? Ehh the latter is certainly possible but I think I may be right abt that.

Like a month ago I found $80
I've told the story of how I found $100 (two 50 dollar bills) outside of a hotel in Turks & Caicos. And then later that day, I unexpectedly ordered a $64 fish entrée at a restaurant, which was part of a much larger dinner tab.

TIL in 1910, two kids (10 and 6) went to New York alone, by horseback, from Oklahoma. I guess that makes us all overprotective helicopter parents?

Ultimate free-range kids: Two boys, 6 and 10, rode horses to New York — from Oklahoma

When Louis and Temple Abernathy set out on horseback for New York from a ranch in Tillman County, Okla., they were 10 and 6 years old. The trek wasn’t even the boys’ first long-distance ride; they had traveled to Santa Fe, N.M., the previous year.
...
Louis (whom his brother called “Bud”) and Temple left Oklahoma early in April. Louis rode his father’s horse, Sam Bass, and Temple rode a pony named Geronimo. Temple was so small that he had to climb on a stump to mount, and often slid down the pony’s leg rather than drop to the ground. They rode without maps, watching the sun and asking directions as they went.
...
The boys faced a blizzard. Geronimo foundered and had to be replaced with a horse that was named Wylie Haines after an Oklahoma deputy. Temple came down with a fever, and he was once almost swept away crossing a river.

Sam Bass was a notorious outlaw. Why did the boys' father name a horse after him? And Geronimo was an Apache leader and medicine man. It is said that when Geronimo donned a parachute and jumped out of an airplane, he would yell "Meeeee!!!"

Some
horrible
Iowan
trash-talk.

(See what I did there? It will make sense after you've read the story.)
I did something like that in college once.
A professor pissed me off, and I thought I'd have a private subliminal joke at his expense.
Our projects for the semester were presented at an art gallery downtown so I titled a project:
Evenings
Around
Town

Music &
Entertainment

Driving
Optimum
Nightlife
(I changed the name, but the original had a better flow.)

I would have gotten away with it, but I told one roommate, who told someone else, then the next thing I knew everyone in the gallery was walking up to my project and laughing. It was only a matter of time before the faculty found out.

At one point, I looked across the room to see the Dean take my project off the wall and move it to a storage room.
The professor wanted me expelled.
Other faculty wanted me to get an F for the semester.
There was a disciplinary meeting with the Dean, department Chair, and another professor. I guess the professor I insulted was scared to attend. The prof in the meeting was trying to say that my hidden message was me calling "Don" gay.
I was stupid enough to say "If that was what I meant, it was an invitation, which makes me gay......"
Then an even more stupid thing for me to say was "If anything, I'm saying that he's a cannibal......."

The Dean cracked a grin.....for just a second.....

They asked why I did it, so I told them why the prof pissed me off, and that I made a bad judgement call while I was pulling an all-nighter trying to finish the project. I said I wouldn't do it again, and that I'd behave.

I don't know how I pulled it off, but they only dropped my grade by one letter grade, and they put a letter in my permanent record.

:roflmao:  :roflmao:

That is a fantastic story hectic! Well done!

However if the faculty had some balls and actually expelled you they probably would have set you on a path to a career that could actually help society...like a storage place manager...and not a member of our most despised profession.

Public bathrooms where you go to wash ur hands and the water comes out of the faucet in like 5 or 10 separate little streams all at once instead of 1 normal stream suck. It takes way longer to feels like ur hands are actually washed.

I hate those things. And half of them with sensors don't work right.
You wave your hands under them and nothing. You move your hand out of the way, then water. By the time you hand gets back under the faucet, the water stops again. I swear they are a practical joke that plumbing engineers play on the world.
