It is this definition that I think of with the term Woke. The other parts are just common decency.

I kinda wish I could show all of my answers now. Cause the stuff you mentioned and some other things I def answered in more traditionally left leaning ways. I guess if I answered them all the way they consider chud I would have been further to the right side of the top right square.

The Maine primary was yesterday, which means that hopefully, we'll be seeing TV ads from fewer people (but maybe not fewer ads). But I've been having a different problem. During this whole 90s favorite song thing, I've been going to YouTube a lot. And my VPN has them thinking I'm interested in the Iowa governor's race. So I keep seeing ads from this buffoon. Aside from looking like he's a kid, he's got this bizarre over-the-forehead hair thing going on.

And he says the most plainly obvious things, which I don't care about, because I'm not in Iowa. Hopefully, this will go away.

Thread 'Things That Nobody Needs'

Because of my recent move, I've had to call into a lot of automated phone systems, due to changes in my medical and utility providers, notifying change of address, and so on. And each time, it starts with "Please listen carefully, as our menu has changed". I won't go into all the reasons that this statement is nonsensical, but clearly, it's a message that nobody needs.

This got me thinking about all the things we come across in our daily lives, that nobody needs. Here's my initial list; feel free to add your own.

1) Pennies;
2) The 9/10 of a cent at gas pumps;
3) The statement "Please...
 
Couple of random things:

First, I'm always amazed at the lengths these companies will go to, to scam customers. The car-service company AAA is a legitimate one, yet the AAA Life Insurance Company seems to be nothing but a scam. They keep sending me term life insurance offers in different types of packaging, hoping one of them will trigger my idiot reflex. The latest is supposed to look like a title from the state of Maine. I mean, WTF?

And the envelope this came in had all sorts of letters and a cardboard protector for the "certificate". What a freakin' waste of a tree.

My other random thing is from dinner at a Chinese restaurant last week (early September). I don't want to say this came from a stale fortune cookie, but...

I literally get 2 insurance pitches a week from AAA.
This has been going on for the last 8 or 10 years.
I have AAA for the car, but have never contacted them for anything else.
At some point, you'd think that they would realize that it ain't going to happen.
If they are stupid enough to waste their money on sending this crap, that's fine. It helps pay my mailman's salary


And damn! You have to wait till NEXT JULY for opportunity?

I never get pitches from AAA. I do get a couple a year from CAA. Not life insurance, but car insurance. A couple of years ago I was looking to change my insurance company as the price of the one I had had grown more than I thought it should. I priced CAA for car and home and they were even more expensive.
 
We get these all the time. It's a fake handwritten-looking quote from a "local" Renewal by Andersen installer. Except the letter was mailed from Minnesota. And it's actually a printed copy.

That one window in your house is the best part of the entire thing. It's obviously a scam. You're right cuz if they knew anything about you or your home they would know to never mess with any of your windows.
