How didn't everything burn down in olden times? They had open flames as light. I imagine fires were a way bigger problem than they are today.

Cor blimey, mate, know you naught about the Great Fire of London? 'Twas a right bloomin' plonker what destroyed most of the city.

Mrs. O'Leary's cow did not kick over a lantern and did not start the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Catherine O'Leary was asleep in bed when the fire began at 9 PM October 8 and there was no lantern in the barn. The official cause has never been determined but there is speculation a group of men were gambling inside the barn and one of them accidentally started the fire. In 1997, a Chicago City Council committee officially exonerated the cow:

Mister Hectic wants an 8th day. Okay, here is 8th Day's biggest hit, from 1971:

Dude, sometimes you make me angry. That shit is gorgeous but I seem to remember your home office pics of the woods....that's also pretty amazing.
My Turks & Caicos pic is probably not much different from where you are right now, with the warmth and palm trees. And as much as I like my home office, it's in a very different environment. I took this picture about a week ago, and while it was well received by my local community forum, it represents the differences between where I am and the Caribbean.
