I know there are groups who would like to see their communities governed by Sharia Law at least up here. Banning would prevent that from happening.

But I see your point. But I have heard people advocating it be taught it schools. Can I assume that they also have no idea what they are talking about?
My example of Sharia Law, is that there have been cases in this country, where nobody is advocating for Sharia Law, but in some heavily Muslim communities, the old-time residents are fearful of it, so they ban it.

As for CRT, I have not come across anyone advocating that CRT be taught in public schools. I have come across people who use the term CRT as a synonym for racism history awareness (which it's not), and either support or want to eliminate that curriculum. Like I said (and Channel98 posted), CRT is really a Law School subject. It doesn't seem logical to me that it would be part of a grade school curriculum.

My son is one of those people who knows Pi to x-number of digits. (20? 30? 40? I forget). So is my friend who runs the VJ competition each week.

Since junior high, I've stopped at 3.14159265358979. Until my son encouraged me to learn more. So I added 3238. Father/son (nerd) bonding.

It just makes me think of a pet peeve of mine (not that I have many): round-off people!

On all the house hunter shows, it's like "They purchased the home for 249,995 dollars, invested 72,500 dollars in upgrades, and now the estimated value of their home is 349,000 dollars, an increase of 99,005 dollars".

The annoying local furniture chain ads say "we have the most queen mattress sets under $999".

They're no longer allowed to advertise a 70-inch flat-screen TV; it's got to be a 70-inch "Class" TV, with a diagonal screen size of 69.2 inches.

Get rid of the freakin' pennies. Get rid of the 9/10 of a cent on the price of gas. It's just so stupid.

On February 1, 2012, JCPenney adopted a "Fair & Square" pricing policy. They eliminated sales and discounts and coupons, they lowered the price of their merchandise by around 40% and they started pricing everything in whole dollar amounts – no more $19,99, $24.99, $29.99, etc. It sounded good in theory: Customers would know they could buy something and not find it offered at a lower price a week later. In practice, though, the pricing policy didn't work. In the first three months of the new policy, JCPenney's sales fell by 20.1%.

As for restaurant prices, an article in The Atlantic explains that diners believe food is of better quality when it's priced in whole dollar amounts. Huh? "Honey, this $14.99 steak doesn't sound appealing. I think I'll order the $15 steak. It's gotta be good."

People don't usually do comparison pricing when selecting a restaurant.
They may pick a chain steakhouse over a 4 star steakhouse because they would rather pay $20 for a steak instead of $75, but they won't pick a restaurant because the steak is $19.95 instead of $20.

Once you're at the restaurant, you don't think about the price at other restaurants. You may pick the burger over the steak because you don't want to spend a lot, but people don't often leave to get a better deal somewhere else.

Based on the number of hot dogs I have already eaten and assuming I would normally live to 100, by this calculation I should already be dead.

Last month, Joey Chestnut ate 76 Nathan's hot dogs and buns in ten minutes. That is a world record. In 2020, he set a record by eating 32 Big Macs in 38 minutes. He also holds the world records for eating tacos, burritos, doughnuts, poutine – IRBS can explain what that is – Twinkies, tamales, grilled cheese sandwiches and ice cream sandwiches. He's 37. How much longer will he live? Any predictions?
