It is kinda funny to call a GnR tune classic since it isn’t very old to me; but it pretty much is a classic.
When they were touring in the early 90s, they weren’t one of my favorite bands, but I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t get tickets. I saw them play with Skid Row at the speedway. It was well worth it. Rose didn’t have any temper tantrums, and they were really good. Granted, they did hit the stage about an hour late. I think that was considered a miracle for them back in the day.

#166 Motley Crue "Looks That Kill"

For me, liking metal (or hard rock, by today's standards) started with Def Leppard, Van Halen and Quiet Riot. Then came Ozzy, Ratt, Twisted Sister and Motley. Shout At The Devil was one of my fav albums as a teen. Still love "Shout", "Bastard", "Too Young", "Ten Seconds", "Knock 'Em" and "Danger" a lot, but "Looks" is their best song IMO (followed by "Home Sweet Home" which is on my 500+).

My wife's friend used "Hanging On A Moment" by Lifehouse. Awkward for a first dance song going from slow-dancing to kinda-rocking-out back to slow-dancing, etc. Wish they'd told me in advance, I've long had an acoustic recording of the song that woulda worked nicely.

#164 Nine Inch Nails "Get Down Make Love"

For everyone who loves Pretty Hate Machine as much as I do, I hope nobody missed out on this filthy little "Sin" b-side -- a Queen cover so sexy and twisted that a friend once told me he played this for his girlfriend while they were fooling around and she came three times.

#162 Pop Will Eat Itself "92 Degrees"

A friend and I were in an indie record store talking to the owner about the bands we like. He suggested three bands to us: Church, Sisters Of Mercy and Pop Will Eat Itself. My friend bought all three. When he got to PWEI, at the end of the first song I said, "You can keep this tape in the car. I'll never need to listen to it." Within a year, I was listening to it constantly. Sometimes when something is so different from everything else, it takes time for it click.

These guys are considered pioneers of "Grebo", a combination of dance-rock, psychedelia, pop, hip hop, punk rock and electronica. Other acts include Jesus Jones, The Wonder Stuff, Ned's Atomic Dustbin and Carter USM.

Most of their songs feature two male vocalists trading lines or verses (a British Beasties kinda). My favorite song of theirs however features a guest vocalist, so the vox don't normally sound like this.

"Did you know, Putnam, that more murders are committed at 92 Fahrenheit than any other temperature? I read an article once. Lower temperatures, people are easygoing. Over 92, it's too hot to move. But just 92, people get irritable." [from the film It Came From Outer Space]

#161 Guns N Roses "You Could Be Mine"

While Appetite is their finest work, and the other albums pale in compariston, this is my fav GNR song. If you look in the liner notes of Appetite, you'll see a lyric from this song in there, which makes me suspect this one was written during the Appetite sessions - and that explains why it's so damn good.

They have that Charlatan’s UK groove about them.
I knew about Pop, but don’t know how I never really listened to them. That’s an oversight.
#160 Gary Wright "Dream Weaver"

One of those songs from my childhood that brings me back to those simpler days. Set adrift on memory bliss...

Yep.
Childhood, then Wayne’s World.
