@IdRatherBeSkiing Agreed on that solo! I loved Fight when it first came out because hair bands started getting lame (I think I already posted about this, so I won't blather on about it again) but even with how much I loved the song, that solo still made (and makes) me wince.

A while ago I started a list called 'good song, bad solo'. I only have four entries so far, but Fight is right at the top:

Beastie Boys "Fight For Your Right"
Nirvana "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
Red Hot Chili Peppers "Californication"
Sugar Ray "Streaker" (at end of song)
I think you have confused me for @HecticArt . At least you didn't accuse me of living in Toledo.

Wowzers.....Ya don't have to stop to meet up for dinner when you drive through if it's beneath your high standards. :dunno1
Sorry, meant as a joke. Has nice restaurants. Every hotel we have stayed there has been a disaster. It is rather unpleasant to drive thru until they get I75 finished with the construction. By my estimation that should be 10 years.

#248 Depeche Mode "Halo"

First of 9 entries for these guys. I would call this the best synthpop album of all time. Even its (non-instrumental) b-sides are fantastic. Fun fact: a pre-fame Janna Elfman is in the music video. She was directed to "dance badly".

That's one of my top 10 albums. (If I had a list, that is.)
Absolutely massive. I need to look for the remixed version. I didn't know it was out there.

I tease.

75 will always be under construction.
Forever.

Till the end of days.

Its hard to tell sometime on the interweb. And people can sometimes be sensitive about their home towns. But you can always tease me about my original hometown which is but is not named after a female body part.

#247 Sir Mix-a-Lot "Baby Got Back"

I actually like this whole album (minus the last three tracks, swap those for "Cake Boy" - the great b-side of "Baby Got Back"). This song is just good clea...er, unclean fun!

If you ever decide to venture into the Studio Lounge (where we all hang out) that was a clue in this week's Theme Songs game.

Studio Lounge? Oh my.... And I thought discovering this Music thread got me deep into the rabbit hole. Looks like I've still only scratched the surface. I may have to quit my job so I can discover and keep up with all the cool sub-forums on here....
By far, the Studio Lounge and it's sub-forums get the most activity.

#246 Celldweller "Switchback"

I was early on the NIN train ("Down In It" back in 1990, thanks to a club DJ's recommendation). The singer of my first band knew I was into electronic rock/metal, so he lent me the band Circle Of Dust's 1995 eponymous CD and I really dug it. This is another electronic rock one-man-band. He moved on from his record label in 1999, renaming himself Celldweller, and this is his best known song.

#245 KMFDM "Dogma"

The other insanely intense not-a-single KMFDM song that I love to krank to 11. The female vox are like a dominatrix talking politics, and the synth bass rumbles my nether regions.

The more I hear from Celldweller, the more I like.

#244 Megadeth "Angry Again"

Five of my favorite Megadeth songs are non-album tracks that can be found on the compilation Hidden Treasures. "99 Ways To Die" is on my 500+. "Breakpoint" and "Go To Hell" are two more gems. And I love the end of their cover of Sabbath's "Paranoid" where the drummer keeps going, and Dave is like, "Nick. Nick! NICK!!" If you listen real close you can hear Nick cursing himself in the background. Cracks me up every time.

That’s pretty funny. It sounds like the end of half of the songs we play at practice. Someone usually ends by cussing at themselves while the rest of us laugh at them.

It took me a while to warm up to Megadeth. I dont know if it was Dave’s voice, or the buzz saw guitar. Once I did catch on to them, I still needed to take them in moderation. He really is a hell of a player. Hopefully he’s getting healthy again.

I know what you mean about Megadeth. I still don't listen to anything pre-Countdown To Extinction. It was "Symphony Of Destruction" that got me used to his odd vocals. And they started making catchier, less-thrashier songs on that album too.
