@scotchandcigar LOL reminds me of this:

Drummer Stewart Copeland shared with Revolver:

I remember Sting for years trying to think of a rhyme for “magic”, as in ‘Every Little Things She Does Is Magic’. I think the only word he could come up with, apart from ‘tragic’, was ‘pelagic’, which means ‘ocean going’. There I was in my leather pants and punk hairdo, pondering the distinction between ocean-going and river-going fish.

Good songs. I like those mood twists too. Every now and then you stumble on a song and realize ‘holy crap, the song is about that!?!?!’ You wouldn’t bother to listen to them if you knew what they were about in advance.

I always get pisssed off when they play We Will Rock You at a baseball game and they cut it off just before the guitar solo.
It's one of my favorite solos and speaks volumes about how strong simple guitar playing can be effective.

True, those vocals are harsh. But to me, they're just another instrument (since I can barely understand what he's saying anyway).

The song was written about the guest vocalist's step-son who died. The line "walking through this world with your head up high" was something the step-son had written on a piece of paper to use as a lyric someday. So they included it in honor of him.

I’m with Aaron on the Deftones. The vocals on that one aren’t my bag. I like their stuff that’s made it to the radio, but haven’t heard much else.

Tom’s Diner is annoyingly great. It has that awesome Soul II Soul beat and it will get stuck in your head for days.

#254 Suzanne Vega "Luka"

Have I ever mentioned I'm a sucker for upbeat songs with..... yeah, another one.

I am really confused. You name Luka, but then you post a clip of Tom's Diner. And then Hectic comments on a different version of the song (by DNA).:idk:

Let me offer my own thoughts. I love Suzanne Vega, and Solitude Standing is a great album. However, as with many of sadchild's picks, while I respect the elements of the big hits that made them popular (in this case Luka), I tend not to favor the overplayed, commercialized songs from the album. I will probably cover this album at a later time.
