Pardon me, but do you have the time?

I haven't purchased a watch since February. My self restraint is something you should all compliment me about.

I've been looking at a lot of tritium watches but then I stumbled upon this today:

The new Seiko Monster Penguin. It's part of their save the ocean line that they've had for years now but this one just came out a month ago. I think I may need to get it. I've never had a real Monster and I love the dial on this one. It's supposed to be an arctic vibe. And it has little penguin tracks by the 7-10 indices. They're so cute! I may have to take the plunge.

As far as I can tell there are only 2 things I don't like. I'm not a fan of the cyclops over the day date complication and it's hardlex, not sapphire which sucks. But it's a real Seiko Monster. I've been looking at the Islander Monster homages but none of them have dials this cool.

That's cool (literally?). When my Seiko diver died, I was looking at monsters. But my choices were orange - neat, but not a good replacement for my black one - or the Seiko-5 mini monster, which is not really in the same league. Fortunately, the Oris came along. But the Penguin is nice.

The footprints are a little cutesy for me, but subtle enough that they are kind of like an Easter egg. Most people won't even notice.
I like it a lot more than the squares.
 
Well I bought it. Got it used from ebay so saved $150 over MSRP...but really only saved about $60-$80 over what a new one goes for on the gray market. That's still a good chunk of cash for an opened but otherwise like new model.

The seller has 100% positive rating with a bunch of sales and I asked him if the bezel aligned w/the indices properly (because Seiko has issues with that) and he got back to me within an hour saying it does so I guess all I can do now is trust him until it arrives.

Anyway I've said a bunch of times how I prefer resin or silicon straps so I need your opinion. Which one of these do you think would go best with my new Monster? There are 45 different options in this link. I have 2 that I think would work best but I want to hear what you guys think first before I tell you which ones I like.

I kinda gave one of my picks away by posting the link of the gray one front and center but those are the two I was think also. And with the regular stainless clasp, not the black clasp. I'm happy now. Seiko also put out a baby turtle with the same dial pattern and it's they have it on a really nice off white looking rubber strap.

The guy I bought it from is like me about straps so he put it on a black rubber one. He's sending that with the watch so before I go and add another $42 to my already expensive purchase I'll see if I like that one first.
 
I’m digging it. The Mrs chose well.
It’s like they looked at what Skagen was when they first came out and decided to make them nicer instead of cheaper. I‘m waiting to have it out in the light enough to charge up the lume to see how well it glows at night.

It’s the dial around the date. It’s a polished disk that looks like crystallized rock.
 
It looks very nice. Where do they get the meteorites? Its not exactly something that the supply can be predicted.

This model is a limited run series. They are only making 3,333 of them and are giving a couple of bucks for each watch to charity. I don’t know where they found the meteorite, but it’s pretty old.
