I am VERY VERY close to buying 1 of my 2 grail watches right now or at least before Sat for $1200 or less. It's on ebay used for that price but the seller is taking offers so I'll offer $900 and see where it goes from there. It does have a clear scratch on one of the links but I can live with that. The next cheapest version of this watch is $1550 new but from Indonesia. The next cheapest in the US is over $2k.

I asked the seller a few questions so we'll see what he says. He has 100% positive feedback and from the look of the other stuff he sells he's just some guy...I mean you can see his kitchen and living room in pics of his other items so idk, that make me feel better I guess.
 
Decided against buying a $1200 used watch so I went with the normal stainless steel Tokyo Twilight model instead.

Got it on eBay for $540 brand new. The next cheapest currently selling on eBay is for $600 so I'm happy. I bought it from a guy in West Palm Beach so local pickup was an option. Even better he is driving to Ft Lauderdale tomorrow so he's going to drop it off to me at my work! Sweet! That should make my Sunday shift all the nicer.

It was a Christmas gift from the gf. I told you guys this girl is exhibiting the signs of a keeper. She managed to get me a gift that combines 2 things I love.

I know if I scroll back through this thread enough I'll find posts of me praising Timex. It's not a brand I'd buy for myself but it does have a cool history behind it and they make some good, affordable watches. And this one wasn't exactly cheap by normal standards (not my ridiculous standards). I looked it up and it was $75. Now it does have the normal Timex issues, such as the second hand not hitting the markers but I am way more forgiving of that since it was a gift as opposed to if I bought it myself. The bezel doesn't rotate and I don't love that but again...the gift thing makes it easy to forgive.

You can't see it in the pic but the dial is actually a sunburst silver that looks really great in both indoor light and sunlight.

And Indiglo is just cool. It fun to see it shine through the dial at night.

Plus I can now wear something Eagles related at work so that's a win.

I'm looking at one of these Hamilton's. I think I've decided I don't want a Ventura.

Nice! They make a great watch. I have the black anodized khaki navy chrono on black rubber, with orange accents. And the silver pilot auto on brown leather. I like your color combo and features. They are tanks.
 
I thought it would be easier to find one with a white face, but there aren't a lot of them that are less expensive than my car. I can't bring myself to go there.
Shinola has one that is nice, but I've already got 2 Shinola's, and it's a simpler design.

I like the Hamilton's black face.

I kind of miss having my old watch collection. Then again, I would probably gone more crazy buying more. Plus I got tired of changing dead batteries. At least I didn't had to worry about changing times when daylight savings happens. :laugh:
