Apparently the Brewers' 6-0 regular-season record against the Dodgers doesn't mean much in the post-season. CBS Sports writer and analyst R.J. Anderson predicts the Dodgers will win in seven games. And this is from the Sports Betting Dime website:

Tonight in game 1 of the AL Championship series, the Blue Jays got only two hits (a single from Anthony Santander and a solo home run from George Springer) and lost to the Mariners, 3-1 – in Toronto. Game 2 is October 13 – in Toronto.
Mariners got three home runs today (Rodriguez, Polanco, Naylor) and beat the Blue Jays, 10-3 – in Toronto. Game 3 is October 15 in Seattle.
Tonight in the ninth inning of NL Championship series game 1, the Brewers had the bases loaded with two outs – and Blake Treinen struck out Brice Turang. I guess we could say Treinen "turang" him up. (Ouch.) The Dodgers won, 2-1. Game 2 is October 14 in Milwaukee.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched 14 complete games for the Orix Buffaloes in Japan. Tonight he pitched his first complete game for the Dodgers. He gave up only three hits to the Brewers and the Dodgers won NLCS game 2, 5 to 1. Game 3 is October 16 at Dodger Stadium.

After winning their first two ALCS games against the Blue Jays (in Toronto), in game 3 in Seattle the Mariners gave up 18 hits. Five were home runs. The Blue Jays won 13 to 4. Game 4 is October 16 in Seattle.
Could the Dodgers be the first MLB team since the Yankees to repeat as champions? The Yankees won the World Series in 1998, 1999 and 2000. The Dodgers beat the Yankees in the 2024 World Series and with today's 3-1 win over the Brewers, the Dodgers are one win away from the 2025 World Series – but they struck out 15 times in today's game. Yikes!

Eugenio Suárez hit a grand slam in the 8th inning of ALCS game 4 tonight to break a 2-2 tie. The Mariners beat the Blue Jays 6-2. And here is some amazing (and pretty much useless) trivia: Suárez is the 7th MLB player to hit a go-ahead grand slam in the 8th inning (or later) of a playoff game.

The Dodgers are headed to the World Series after sweeping the Brewers in the National League championship series. Tonight they beat the Brewers 5-1. Shohei Ohtani pitched the first six innings and got the win. He gave up no runs and struck out 10. He also hit three home runs – three! – including a leadoff home run. He is the only pitcher in MLB history to hit a leadoff home run in a game.

Crazy stat I saw yesterday. In 150 years of MLB, approximately only 23,000 people ever played in an MLB game. Which is about half the capacity of a typical stadium.
