Nirvana "Man Who Sold The World" (Unplugged) came on Lithium this morning on my way into work. I tried to give it another chance and just couldn't hack it. Just another instance where I'm the odd one out (a la Rock Lobster, etc)

I can take it or leave it. If there's something more fun on, I'll change the stations. If The Smiths or Skynyrd are on the other channel, I switch back to the Nirvana and will really enjoy it.

Haha no I do have SXM. It was just an interesting theoretical situation. Like, for example, your friend says "Hey I've got 2 CDs here, and I am going to listen to one of them right now. Which one should I put in?" #sophieschoice

Making up for the last 4 or so days of abscence, I decided to make this a quad-feature.

#175 - Susan Tedeschi - You Need To Be With Me

When I first heard this song, I felt some Bonnie Raitt vibes. Loved the guitar work on this track. Nowadays she's part of the Tedeschi Trucks Band (with Derek Trucks formerly of the Allman Bros.)

#174 - PJ Harvey - Down by the Water

I was a late-bloomer to this artist, but I heard her song with Thom Yorke and liked it, decided to look further into her catalog, glad I did!

#173 - Love and Rockets - So Alive

Okay, so the lead singer looks like he stuck his finger in a light socket, in what has to be the freakiest hairstyle on either list.

#172 - The Tubes - She's a Beauty

Another one from my era (The 80's), I knew this on guitar at one point. I'll have to pick that up again someday.

As someone that doesn't like blues rock, I must say, this is a good song. Nice groove!

Well unfotunately, the spreadsheet that included this list was FUBARed from my windows machine and is no longer there. Either I can track down another copy or just wait a while and start from where I left off with a new one. :pullhair:

DANG! Dude that sucks. You probably already know this, but get a $10 USB stick and back up. I leave one in my PC and every few weeks just grab the changed files and drop 'em there. Of course there's cloud backup, but that's a security risk. I mean, what if I hacked your cloud and found out the other songs on your list before you posted them. That's worse that having your passwords, your personal photos and your bank account access compromised by a Russian teen with an online gaming addiction!!

I don't have lists. I have PlayLists. I can get a printed list from iTunes anytime I want. I also back up the whole music directory on a backup drive nightly automatically.

I probably could re-create it by memory at some point. But Work, School, Family, and trying to get my security clearance FOR work has been taking all of it away (hence my recent absence).

Putting it back together from memory.... Here goes nothing.

#171 - Extreme - Hole Hearted

One of the first songs I heard off Pornograffiti. Too bad More Than Words is it's biggest hit (not a bad song, just not the best).

#170 - Seal - Crazy

Back when he had hair!

#169 - Boston - Smokin'

:guitar:

#168 - Gladys Knight and the Pips - Heard It Through The Grapevine

Less popular version than the Marvin Gaye rendition, but also the original.

It always struck me as funny that More than Words is such a mushy love song, but if you pay attention to the lyrics, it's a guy trying to convince a chick that she needs to bang him to prove that she loves him.

Kinda like the wedding couples who wind up having their first dance to 'Every Breath You Take'. :D

Another one of those songs that throws people off with lyrics in another language.

I did a full psychoanalysis of this song and the entire album in my thread. It's the full arc of the party experience.
