Internet still spotty (Comcast came back but is going in and out) and there are some strong gusts outside. If I'm going to lose power it will happen in these next few hours. My hope is it can hold on until 4-ish so I won't miss the 1 pm Eagles opener. After that I don't care what happens until week 2.

The usually serene lake at my dad's place has whitecaps this morning. There is scattered organic debris outside. One light fixture has half way blown over. So far that's the extent of Irma in this immediate area. Not so bad yet. Let's keep it that way.

Watching CNN, can they please drop the story line they are out there for the greater good? They are out there for the ratings. If they truly were out there for the greater good, they would be doing it commercial free.

I like some of their reporters honesty though. One guy said he chose his location because of the absence of coconuts on the nearby palm trees.

I think he was on around noon yesterday for football, but then I assume he's been out rescuing manatees while his internet is down.

Looks like Koop has been out of commission since yesterday at 9 am?

He is most likely without power. Think his area was hit hard in that regard.

INTERNET'S BACK!!!

Phone and internet died around 11:30 yesterday. The TV died too but somehow the local news stations were still working. Not sure how that was happening. I don't have an over the air antenna and all the other channels were down. We never lost power! I'm really amazed by that cause there was a lot of strong wind. It flickered a lot but that was it. Rode my bike to community service today (only 14 hours to go!) and there were tree limbs all over the place and lots of stoplights were out. It took way longer to get there than normal and once there I spent the day cleaning up a bunch of branches and leaves that fell all around the community service lady's home. She did lose power and it was still out while I was there. The news was saying that over half of my county lost power so I was in the lucky half. When I got home the TV was back and just now the internet came back.

Really the worst part of the storm for me was not knowing what happened with the Eagles. No web, TV, phone, or paper means I didn't know what happened until about 30 mins ago when they talked about it on PTI. Solid road, divisional win to start the season!

Glad that all is well.

You should have gotten a couple of extra hours of CS for riding your bike through that shiz to do your part.

She hooked me up. She has always been very generous with the timesheet. During traffic school I heard all sorts of stories, from being able to just pay off the people to get your hours on one side to people who work all day and then the moderator refuses to give them any hours at all on the other side.
