How does your SUV do in a hurricane?
Not sure, I got the RAV last October and it hasn't seen a hurricane yet. Today I bought some water and ice for my cooler if the power goes out. Also a loaf of bread. I got gas at Wawa after passing 5 stations that were out of everything or only had diesel. Surprisingly because the line was long, the wait was rather short. I was only there for like 20 minutes. I then got home and parked in a spot in the middle of the lot, as far away from any trees as I could get. I was supposed to go to Melbourne today to drop off that big, old wall clock I talked about but with the gas situation we decided to call if off. The clock will have to literally weather the storm in the back of the RAV. I hope it will be ok. As much as that thing is a hassle, I like having it and it would be a shame if it survived all the way from the 1800's only to be destroyed 7 days after I took possession.
I also called my boss to let her know that I fully intend to be at work on Tues unless the storm is right on top of us. I think it looks good to her that I called, being proactive and all that. I also thanked her again for allowing me to take the 6 days.
I'm going to make sure all my devices are fully charged over the next day or two. On a fun side note, my Dad used a humidifier by his bed. We would use distilled water in it. I was saving all the empty gallon jugs for this situation. However, they all found their way into a trash bag about 5 days ago when we were cleaning out the place.
I think I'm as prepared for this storm as I can be.
