How many miles is a Kia car good for ?

Great to see more LE vehicles coming out. The scion web site is very cool, but I'll have to pass on the xb box. Thanks for the suggestion though. I appreciate it.
I would go with the Fit...but good luck with any negotiations. The Fit is still in high demand, and you're not going to find any dealer willing to deal much for that model, bad economy or not.
Well I will be finding out soon. I'm not in a rush. I'll do a visit soon since it is the end of the month. First will be testing out the car. While getting a feel for the sales person. I can stretch it out over more then one visit. Really it depends on how bad sales want to sell. I've got no issue walking away then coming back. I'm in a rural area that does not sell in quantities like a big city. Less money here as well. So I plan on doing pretty good. Time will tell......
Actually the newer 2008 - 2009 really isn't so boxy. In fact at one of the last car show I went to they had a staging area, for xB box model and xB round model. LOL
My suggestion to you is get whatever you like that fits your needs. What I like, what I recommend doesn't mean jack. It all depends on a persons lifestyle, what they will use the vehicle for etc. For example, the cars you do like just wouldn't work for me, because they are limited in room. The Fit just won't fit me. I need space to haul much stuff and sometimes taller stuff. I kind of view my xB as the best of all worlds. However, I understand they are not for everyone. Scion has started a new ad campaign "Ugly has never been more attractive" LOL
Toyota's resell value is just amazing and these cars hold their value for many, many years. I'd consider nothing else, but that is me!

I read an article last year that said pretty much anything you buy will last 150k as long as you perform the regular maintenance just because cars are being made better and engineering is better.
Having said that - I had a 97 Malibu that I put 120k on when we finally traded it in and it still ran fine, but little things were wearing out that were adding up in cost so we went with a new Impala (2004). It currently has 97k and hasn't had any major repairs.
My commute was 100 miles a day so I went out and found the smallest car I could fit in (I'm 6'2") and picked up a brand new Hyundai Accent (2005). It currently has 70k on it and I haven't had any problems with it. I've also been pleased with the dealer repairing little things that have broken from road damage (not defective, not their fault) for free and offering coupons any time I go in there for any future work. I've been very happy with it but it's by no means an exciting car. I have all the options and it's still pretty basic but it's great for getting from one point to another and when gas prices were $4.25 a gallon I was appreciating the gas mileage. Now I work from home so it's not a big deal anymore.
Go look around and try several cars, also check car forums for that vehicle as you'll see what the main complaints are. Also check Edmunds.com which is very informative.

Thanks for all feedback. I have a lot in my area that has Honda, Toyota, Scion all at the same location. Plus some other brands I'm not as interested in.
Yes, Scion is a Toyota brand.
The xB has the same 2.4L engine as the Camry. The xD engine hasn't been offered in the US before, but it's a Toyota engine.
I have had two company cars, a Chevy Malibu and a Ford Fusion. The Ford was 10 times the car the Chevy was, no issues in 60,000 miles where the Chevy was in the shop 6 times. Both were V-6's.
My company went to 4 cyls and while I don't mind a 4cyl a 4cyl domestic is out of the question. For that and other reasons I am driving a Toyota Camry that I bought in the middle of August. I already have 15,000 miles on it and I love it. Averaging 27.94 MPG so far, with a best tank of 31.7 MPG not bad for a V-6 with 260+ HP.
My point here, is I needed a car that I could drive 250,000 miles over the next 5 years and the only cars that were on my list were the Honda and the Toyota.

Honda fit sport. I did not like the dynamics between the steering wheel, and speedometer. So I passed on that one quickly.
Toyota matrix. I liked it, but some of the feature I wanted were lacking.
Scion xD. I liked this one as well. I bit smaller then the matrix, but the size was fine for me. Comes with some features that the other cars did not come with. Overall I liked this car as my favorite. I don't really see any others that I want to compare it to.
The floor mats is extra cost like 300 dollars, or something. Which seems like a lot for floor mats. Anyone aware of a good aftermarket place to get Scion xD mats for a better price ? They don't need to say Scion on them. Just fit properly.

Check out the Scion fora for other dealers. And don't pay $300 for floor mats. Chances are the dealer will throw them in for free if you ask. The market is not good right now.

I made a mistake the full set of mats in 150.00 About the same on a aftermarket purchase. I'll see about getting free since I'm going to pay in full at delivery.
The new Scion comes with this plastic thingy that sits in one of the front cup holders. The thingy is a ipod holder so it sits upright. Will The G2 fit in this plastic holder OK ? Of course using the included aux plug in.
I bought a Kia Sportage back in 2001, It was a good car. Put on about 50k on it before I traded it in for a Honda CR-V back in Feb 2007...
I didn't get much of a trade in for the Kia, even with the low miles...
I do like my Honda. It's getting over 26mpg, but then again, I rarely go move then 65mph...:shock:

I ordered the Scion Xd in manual. Should be delivered around Dec 5th. Shortly after that I plan to head up to Portland, OR to see a friend. Pick up a roof rack set up in the no sales tax state. We are going to go check out a electric car dealership. I figure the Scion will be great till a alternative fuel comes out that interest me. Actually electric could work for me locally. I don't drive a lot, but I think the technology needs more time.

Thank goodness cause that was a long road trying to figure out the car to get. That final stop I made paid off with the multiple dealers located at one lot. Honda, and Toyota did not work out for me this time. Although I guess I'm still in the Toyota club with a Scion.
