Foodies

Thanks!

Some people I've talked to said they tried making their own, but after a while, they lost interest and gave up. Others said they knew someone who makes them and could get some for me or that I could just buy them from someone.

I appreciate the offers, but I simply told them I thought it would be fun to make my own.

Plus, I'm not going to tell them this, but I don't know what they put in theirs. They might taste great, but I'd rather know exactly what's going into what I eat. That's why I'd prefer to make my own.

Here’s how my pumpernickel loaves turned out. They came out delicious! This is probably my second favorite bread flavor I’ve made so far.

My Bake Breads Rank List
  1. Ciabatta
  2. Pumpernickel
  3. White Bread
  4. Challah
  5. Brioche

Today we went on a bus trip to see the Marlies play in Bellville. It was a group of season ticket holders. The pickup/dropoff point was in Ajax so we decided to have supper at the Olive Garden. Olive Garden left Ontario 20 years ago but has come back. 2 are open one of which is in Ajax. We arrived shortly before 6. We were told that there was a 3 hour wait to be seated. We passed. I asked if they had an app or some way to make reservations to avoid the wait. They said they do not take reservations. It is always first come, first served. I figure maybe on a weekday where we have more time we might give it another shot.
