The Mens Buckeye basketball team has beaten a #7 and #14 ranked team this past week. We have a young team but an NCAA Tournament bid is very possible.

I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers from, but they beat #13 Purdue and #19 Minnesota. But you are right, Ohio State is a lock for the tournament right now. At 17-5 and 7-4 in the Big Ten, they just need to avoid an extended slump to get in the field. Joe Lunardi at ESPN has them at an 8 seed right now in his Bracketology.

Hmmm, I could have sworn the OSU announcers said Purdue was number 7. Maybe it was 7 in a certain category. I must have mis-read the TV screen last night thinking it said 14 for Minnesota. I need my eyes checked.

You are correct on the rankings.

All in all........GO BUCKS!

Too bad David Lighty has been hurt for much of the season. And too bad Kosta Koufos left after one year...he should have stuck around and improved his game a little more before jumping to the NBA. He ain't doing much on the Jazz.

Anyone watch the Kansas/Missouri game tonight? Kansas led just about the whole game until the very end...Zaire Taylor hit a great shot with one second left.

If you haven't watched a Mizzou game this season, you really should the next time you have the opportunity. Mike Anderson's brand of basketball is fun to watch...I get exhausted just watching them play on my TV.:heat:

Texas Tech is on at the same time as the UNC/Duke game, so I don't know what to do (I don't have DVR). I'll probably watch the Tech game primarily and switch over to the other at commercials.

I hope you switched over at halftime...Texas Tech got spanked by Kansas State 85-73 and it wasn't as close as the score would indicate.

Yes, yes they did. When they fell down 25-5 or whatever it was, I had to switch over to UNC/Duke. Football season can not come soon enough for Tech fans.

Good game for North Carolina. When playing at their best, UConn and UNC are the best teams in the country.

Yes, today is a good day to be a TarHeel, UNC won, and Dook lost!

I hate that we let them score 87 points, but, yes to put up 101 on Dook @ Cameron is quite the accomplishment. Lawson was the difference maker IMO, no one for Dook could beat him as he came off the dribble.

Can't wait for tourney-time - lots of good teams out there. Oklahoma, UConn, NC...but I'm really liking the lack of press about the SEC. Whomever emerges is going to have a nice run because I think the ACC, Big12 and Big East are top heavy - not battle tested.

You really think the Big East and ACC are "top heavy" and "not battle tested"? Maybe I'll give you the Big XII with just Oklahoma, Kansas, and Mizzou at the top, but come on...the Big East and ACC are loaded with good teams.

I'd say the Big East has about 6 teams with Final Four potential...the ACC has 4.

No, I'm just reaching for a positive spin on why the sec only has one 20 win team right now!

Haha ok, fair enough.

Yeah I'll be surprised if anyone from the SEC makes it to the Sweet 16. There are a lot of decent teams from that conference, but none that jump off the page at you. Florida is good, but pretty much a one-man show with Calathes. Kentucky has improved, but still a little inconsistent. Hopefully Patrick Patterson's injury wasn't serious...he's listed as day-to-day. Tennessee has been disappointing. South Carolina is an interesting team...the Cincinnati transfer Devan Downey might be the SEC's player of the year. I think LSU may actually be the SEC's best team right now. Trent Johnson has them playing pretty well. They've got a Texas Tech transfer on their team (Terry Martin).

That Kentucky win over Florida was interesting. I'm a fan of the frenetic heart attack style the sec seems to have going. But, I'm hoping for a rise w/ the mid-majors like in college football. Could this be the year for a Davidson, Dayton, Butler, Utah State final four?
