Curry is a freak of a bball player. Cant remember who they played, it was a small school but, it was a 2 or 3 weeks ago, but they held him scoreless. They basically double-teamed him the whole game. So, he would just run to the corner to get those 2 players as far away his teammates as possible. They never left him, so of course the other Davidson players stepped up and had a huge night. Whatever.

The real question I have is: How in the world did Va. Tech not get this kid? (His father played for the Hokies years ago...)

That game was incredible. It was Loyola of Maryland, and they basically played a triangle-and-2 defense for the entire game, even after it was clear that it wasn't working. Their coach bragged after the game that his team held the amazing Stephen Curry scoreless and that no other team has done that before. Thing is, you still lost by 30, coach!

IIRC, James Jordan was pretty much told something along the lines of 'You will have a place on the team, no question, but, you probably will not get much playing time'

Tarheel I am sure knows the inside iggy

Oklahoma was in town last night to play Rice, and I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go. Wasn't as competitive as the score might suggest (70-58), but watching Blake Griffin was worth the price of admission. He scored 27 and grabbed 11 boards. Must be kind of nice to know you're next year's first overall pick in the NBA Draft. Think Carlos Boozer, only much more athletic.

MUCH more athletic.

Stephen Curry (uh, I mean Davidson) plays Duke tonight in Durham. Should be an entertaining game with lots of guard play (and scoring). ESPN is doing that dopey thing where they are switching the NBA and college broadcast teams for tonight's games. Pretty stupid and just another example of ESPN making it about themselves instead of the game, but I am relieved that I won't have to hear Dickie V's gibberish.

Fresh off their amazing victory over the vaunted Tarheels in Chappel Hill, Boston College proceeds to follow that effort up with a loss to Harvard, on BC's home court no less. You say Harvard, a lot of impressive things immediately come to mind; basketball is not one of them.

How does that happen?

I know!

I was talking to my wife, the ESPN ticker was on, and I saw that, and totally lost my train of thought. I guess it just goes to show you, anything can happen in College Bball. How about Maryland getting beat my Murray State?

Ouch.

You and your "darn" predictions.

OK, Ohio State Buckeyes all the way. Although, if we lose in the final game and are still somewhat happy with our season, our fan base may get criticized. :jj:

Oh knock it off dude, you're spooky...maybe a little nutty even. Are you gonna scour the sports forum and reply to every post I make now? God forbid anyone criticize the almighty Buckeyes! They are omnipotent, celestial beings who must be worshiped and never questioned. I do confess!!! I'm sure Columbus, Ohio must be Heaven-on-Earth. It must be!!!

Are all Ohio State fans this touchy? Something screams to me "YES!!!". Reminds me a lot of the Texas Longhorn faithful. Now that I think about it, that game in Arizona was the perfect match-up. I can only imagine the amount of prima donnas in those stands at the Fiesta Bowl. Must of been unprecendented.

Why did you put darn in quotation marks in your above post? I don't get that.

ME nutty? YOU picked an 8-8 regular season team to go to the AFC Final. :pointlaugh:

Would an 8-win team going to the Conference Championship really have been that much different than a 9-win team going? Because there are two of them in the NFC Championship.

Thanks to junior guard Jodie Meeks and his 54 points (a school record), Kentucky blew out Tennessee in Knoxville last night 90-72. Looks like Billy Gillispie may have Kentucky playing high-level basketball finally (either that or Tennessee is not very good). They're on top of the SEC at 2-0. Meeks and Patrick Patterson are fun players to watch. Too bad they don't play Florida until February 10th.
