Bubba's goes off about sirius....again

We should all do this.

Even if it is just for a day, a weekend or a week.

Howard will be gone from 12/22-1/4 at least.

Cancel then.

Unless it huge numbers it won't make a difference. One of Mel's comments about the user cancellations that came out of the music channel changes was that the revenue lost by the small number of cancellations didn't nullify the cost savings. And if it's just a temporary cancellation, they get an extra $15 when you re-activate later.

It's a lose-lose situation for the fans...

As a commuter with an hour commute both ways, I'm kinda screwed - I'm definitely not canceling Sirius and missing Howard. But over the years I've really come to love Bubba - it's a huge loss for Sirius, and I really thought that the plan was to groom him to be the successor to Howard when Howard eventually leaves - I mean Howard is pushing mid fifties and Bubba is in his early forties? He was clearly the future. If Howard for some reason bailed early, and Bubba was off, it would be a no brainer - I'd be OUT in a heartbeat.

The fact they pay Martha Stewart and Oprah around 80mm combined, with NEITHER of them really doing shows, is a crime. Neither of them are radio people - they are not driving subscriptions. They're STUNTS to get publicity...and that publicity has come and gone (as Bubba pretty clearly outline this am).

You can't say Mel Karmazin doesn't know the radio business...but holy shit. Who's making these decisions over there?

If I were him, I'd just rant on and on about corporate and try to get canned. They've strung him along for 3 friggin' years.

Bubba is around 350lbs.I dont think he would be around that long after Howard retires anyway.

Regardless of his weight, myself and others find his show enteraining.

Snoozer - Bubba's FM show can be heard online. I'm not sure if it's recordable, though. I've come to like and appreciate Bubba, but it looks like he's not going to be around much longer. By the sounds of things, he seems to be going out with a bang!:jj:

I bought the lifetime subscription, and I don't really listen to Bubba. Plus I'm a commuter too. I guess that all means I will never cancel. At least until my unit dies and I can no longer transfer the account.

When does the replay start? I can never figure out the Friday schedule.

Edit: Never mind, I looked it up. 3 Eastern, noon on the Left Coast.

Thanks. I knew it was available. I'm going to give it a shot when he leaves sirius. Though, I'm not sure if I'll like a censored show and more commericals...we'll see.

I guess us "lifers" will just shut the lights out when we leave...;)

There really aren't that many more commercials. He still takes 2 breaks an hour and usually doesn't play a bit and song coming back from commercials.

Sounds like a replay right now. They're talking about Elizabeth Williams, a woman convicted of murder back in 2006 and they're saying she was convicted yesterday. I wonder why they're going that far back to dig up a replay.

I just changed it to 101 as well since I missed the 1st half hour this morning.
FUCK this is Bull shit. I'm for sure cancelling one of my subs when I get home tonight now.

I doubt we'll hear Bubba live again on Sirius :(

It is not the same show from this morning. This morning the show started off with Houston Alexander. I caught parts of the morning show, but missed the Artie part and was hoping to catch it on the reply. Things are really not looking good. I wonder if he will be back on Monday.
