Czech and Hungary were a little tricky.
Austria and Germany weren't too bad.
I was at neighborhood looking restaurants in Hungary and Germany where the waitress' didn't speak English. At the German one we had to point at stuff on the menu. Don't know for sure what we ordered. Some kind of sausage. It was pretty good and light and airy like chocolate cake. Later on I figured that it was probably blood sausage. It's good if you don't know what you ordered.
Finland, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands are pretty easy. I think they speak better English than most Americans.
Russia, which wasn't on the list, was the most difficult.
For the most part, if you're polite, and don't act like an obnoxious Merican like you see on TV, people over there are pretty cool, and will try to help you out.
