Pretty sure I agree. But I literally only know like 10-ish of the songs on this chart.Maybe 5 good/okay. Best song on the countdown for me is Take a Bow by Madonna
This seems like it was the start of the whole era of over-singing, which sadly we're still in. Maybe since all the wheedly-deedly guitar players had been extinguished at this point, people needed something over-the-top in their radio music.Boyz II Men - man did those guys over-sing, way too much.
Wow I remember thinking at the time that this was a good song, and I probably haven’t listened to it since then.16 19 Martin Page - In the House of Stone and Light
One of those great songs that is sadly a very forgotten hit. I rarely hear it, and only on 90s-themed stations.
I know they used "brother" in the radio edit. It was muted for television.Good 4
Okay 4
Bad 5
? 17
BEST I RECOGNIZE
16 19 Martin Page - In the House of Stone and Light
WORST I RECOGNIZE
28 28 Rednex - Cotton Eye Joe
24 25 Hootie & The Blowfish - Let Her Cry
21 18 Des’ree - You Gotta Be
12 22 Bryan Adams - Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?
All four songs are atrociously bad. Like "shoot me in the head so I don't have to hear them" bad.
16 19 Martin Page - In the House of Stone and Light
One of those great songs that is sadly a very forgotten hit. I rarely hear it, and only on 90s-themed stations.
10 -- Boyz II Men - Water Runs Dry
One of only two B2M songs I liked enough back in the day to actually go out of my way to hear it once in a while. The other is "Motownphilly".
08 10 Blessid Union of Souls - I Believe
The rare pop song (not rap) with the N word featured prominently in it. I think radio edited it out back in the day? Nowadays every black rapper has to say it at least 15 times a song or they become an outcast.
