I think '85 countdowns are usually my favorite.
1986 and 1987 are still good.
1988 and 1989 are pretty weak.

The earlier the countdown for me the better. Summer of 1985 is the turning point for me. Probably because at that point I started listening to music differently as I was no longer in university. 1988 & 89 are particularly bad because it usually is infested with c-rap music and whiney houston.

I hope you're just referring to the rest of the 80's.

I like music from the 90s 'til now, but it would be hard for me to find another era of music as good as mid 80s countdowns.

Some mid 90s music was almost as good. Oasis. Alanis Morissette. Mariah Carey. Lots of good music in 1995, but all in all, not as good or as memorable at mid 80s music

Sorry, both Sledgehammer (1986) and Money For Nothing were superior videos. That one wasn't bad just not better than those 2.

No. Don't Come Around Here No More was better

Whiney Houston was good. She had a lot of talent & had great backing & producing. Why else did,she gave so many number one hits?

In your opinion on the first.

She is fingernails on the chalkboard for me. Like Barbara Streisand in the 70s. Also, seeing some of the other drek that made #1 in the late 80s being #1 wasn't something in itself.

Great countdown.

37. INVISIBLE - ALLISON MOYET
Thought it was a guy singing. I never heard this one back in the day. That's not a bad thing.

35. LOST IN LOVE - NEW EDITION
Painfully bad.

30. SAY YOU'RE WRONG - JULIAN LENNON
Forgot about this one. I should pick this album up. It's the third good song I've heard lately that I'd forgotten about.

28. CELEBRATE YOUTH - RICK SPRINGFIELD
No wonder his career went downhill in the mid 80s. Working Class Dog is so good.

20. IN MY HOUSE - MARY JANE GIRLS
Guilty pleasure song.

14. DON'T COME AROUND HERE NO MORE - TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS
Yes a great video, but not even in my top 30 vids of the 80s.

11. ALL SHE WANTS TO DO IS DANCE - DON HENLEY
Always loved this killer groove.

8. EVERYTHING SHE WANTS - WHAM
Ugh. I've always hated their sound, and nothing has changed. So bad.

Instead of the usual countdown, they went with a Top 40 Road Trippin' songs of the 80's.
If SiriusXM posts the lists on their website, I will post here.

Like Aaron said.... classics!!

17. COME ON EILEEN - DEXY'S MIDNIGHT RUNNERS

Guilty pleasure song. Cheesy but too fun to ignore.

1. LET'S DANCE - DAVID BOWIE
I'm sure I'm in the minority but I've always hated this song, and just about everything else he did from 1983-1988. I dig a handful of his songs pre-1983, and a few of his 90s and later songs, but his 83-88 era is nails on a chalkboard to me.

I wasn't anti-80's Bowie during that era, but I wasn't wild about it at either.
I thought it got too much airplay, but those were my guitar hero years.
If it wasn't Van Halen, Scorpions, Dokken, or the like, it was a low priority for me.
Bands like INXS, U2, The Police, and (always) Rush kept me rounded out, but they weren't overplayed on the radio.
