I liked it as well. I almost missed it this week due to the replay schedule change though it now starts 9 am instead of 6 am.

On Sunday? That competes directly with AT40 on the 70s,
Yeah, I guess they are now running both at the same time unless this week is a fluke or something. The web page still has the old Sunday air times. Very strange. I know Martha Quinn is on vacation this week due to her premiere as morning host on KKSF in San Francisco which is now all 80's. I Heart 80's is the name of the station.

They have had vjs on vacation before without altering times. The website would be the last to know about a schedule change too.

I think they moved everything up 3 hours. Nina Blackwood is now on following the countdown at noon. You're right they are slow to update the website in regards to staff changes and schedules. They still have Madison on First Wave. She has moved to lithium mornings or is going to soon.

The Sunday morning one is the only one I don't record (record AT40 at that time). I hope they have left the others alone.

So many classic songs this week.

If I were to make a list of my favorite songs of all time (like my top 500 ever), these would all be on it.

39. 1999 - PRINCE
26. LITTLE RED CORVETTE - PRINCE
21. OUR HOUSE - MADNESS
20. SHE BLINDED ME WITH SCIENCE – THOMAS DOLBY
19. COME DANCING – THE KINKS
18. I’M STILL STANDING – ELTON JOHN
16. SHE’S A BEAUTY – THE TUBES
11. BEAT IT – MICHAEL JACKSON
10. FAMILY MAN – DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES
8. ALWAYS SOMETHING THERE TO REMIND ME – NAKED EYES
4. ELECTRIC AVENUE – EDDY GRANT

As a kid about to turn 14, I knew all of the songs on the countdown back then except these ones (and I thought all 4 were awful!)

28. THAT’S LOVE – JIM CAPALDI
27. BABY JANE – ROD STEWART
25. ALL THIS LOVE - DEBARGE
24. THE WOMAN IN YOU – THE BEE GEES

This was a tough listen, mainly the first half.

30. TWILIGHT ZONE - THE MANHATTAN TRANSFER
Every time I hear this group, I shudder.

28. I'M ALIVE - ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA
24. MAGIC - OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN

When I was 10, I liked these songs and the movie Xanadu, but I learned quickly not to admit it around my friends. Can't stand the songs or movie now.

25. WONDERING WHERE THE LIONS ARE - BRUCE COCKBURN
Totally forgot this song exists. Not bad.

9. CARS - GARY NUMAN
Classic. I remember a friend of mine telling me the whole song was made with a synthesizer and I responded with "That's impossible!"

4. THE ROSE - BETTE MIDLER
Gotta admit, usually this type of song would be "lame" to me, but this one is quite good.

2. COMING UP - PAUL MCCARTNEY & WINGS
Studio version = meh. Live version = yes! Alan said the song peaked at #2. That was the UK. It hit #1 in the US... well, the live version did.

I was in Okinawa from Jan 19, 1989 until Jan 12, 1990, so I miss out on most of that.

Some really bad songs on this countdown. Donnie Osmond?

Express Yourself by Madonna was not her best.

I Won't Back Down. Best song on the countdown.
Donny Osmond made a comeback on the US pop charts in 1989 and Soldier of Love was one of the tracks that helped him make the comeback.
