How did you hear this one thanx to me? I think there are some dots that need connecting.

Whitesnake "Still of the Night" - that one got some airplay. Surprised it never got closer to the top 40.

Also I like the Depeche Mode song "Strangelove" more than the vast majority of the the top 40.

I agree with Jon that Pseudo Echo's version of Funky Town is better than the original.
The guitar is much more fun. My band just started to pick it up before the COVID fiasco started.

Got it . I went back and reread my thread (since I have forgotten which top 10s I had posted) and saw that.

I like Pseudo Echo's version but Lipps Inc was the go to version.

I didn't guess the #1 either. I was thining Abracadabra but ruled it out because I thought that was 1983. My guess was I Can't Go For That or Private Eyes from Hall & Oates.

"If You Want My Love" shoulda hit the Top 40 easily. But that was in the period where Cheap Trick's label has basically given up on them, assuming they were a done deal.

Little surprised that "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" didn't at least graze the lower rungs of the Top 40. Weird.
