Not 2025 but I just watched it with my wife and son.
Howl's Moving Castle (Disney/Studio Ghibli)
Japanese animated film
My wife and son loved it. But I give it 2/5 stars.
My wife and son talked about how you have to 'fill in the gaps' when elements of the story don't make sense. Then my son answered one of my questions with "because her father was kidnapped".... problem is: it was established at the beginning of the film her father was already dead.
They both laughed at lines that I rolled my eyes at.
We talked about a scene where a door just happens to exist next to the girl that, upon entering, shows her the other main character's backstory. My son said 'you need to work on your suspension of disbelief'. I said there's a difference between 'dogs can't talk but ok' and 'somehow she survived being in a house that just tumbled down a cliff (without a scratch) and when she gets up, there's a door that takes her to the exact scene of the other person's childhood she needed to see'.
Anyway, of the 208 films I've entered into Letterboxd so far, I probably regretted 1/3 of them (like this one) and don't need to see another 1/3 of them ever again.
