2025 Movies and TV Shows

Haven’t seen it yet but really want to, mostly waiting for it to drop on Max before too long.

I did PVOD to see it cause I heard about the dual director thing and I love Alex. He may be 4th to me after Nolan, PTA, and Villeneuve.

I think it's the first time I did that. I waited for it to drop from $20 to $10 and I think it was well worth the $10. I'll watch it again when it hits Max.

ALSO HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I BEAT YOU MOVIE MAN.

And this isn't obscure. This had a wide release. This is a rare win that makes me smile and I won't forget it anytime soon.

Hahah....really tho, can you think of any movie you've seen that had no soundtrack whatsoever? Non indie movies I mean.

I know DDA very well and I've seen The Birds. Don't know Fail Safe.

That's weird I don't remember it in Dog Day Afternoon. Yet it makes sense. That movie gets so dramatic the lack of soundtrack def helped without me even realizing.

Aside from the legends like Spielberg, Scorsese, the Coen Brothers, Tarantino, both Andersons, Nolan, Polanski, Spike Lee, Tim Burton….

Woody Allen - personal life aside, I’ve watched all his movies and I like his humor. He’s a legend also.

Bong Joon-Ho - brilliant

Jim Jarmusch - a bit off the beaten path, but I dig his movies

David Fincher - always good

Michael Mann - all good films

Alexander Payne - never made a bad movie.

Todd Haynes - quietly putting together a good list of films

Dennis Villeneuve - of course

Sean Baker - he’s on a hot streak for sure

This is a good discussion topic I'm a little too tired to get into right now.

But if you're putting old guys on the list I'd counter Fincher with Ridley Scott. While I enjoy modern Fincher like Gone Girl, The Martian is way better and probably in my top 10 all time.

Nolan doesn't even make your list? That is sacrilege. He is the living Kubrick........Exhibit A: The end of Interstellar. Clearly it was his take on the end of 2001. Same with Garland's end of Annihilation.

I'm honestly not that deep about it. He made Batman be serious and real and I have loved Batman since before I could read so I'm totally biased there.

But Garland and Dennis (at the end of Arrival).......all of these guys are clearly trying to make their mark that they learned from Kubrick.

I think the only thing that could make me see this movie would be if they included their girlfriends.

The Netflix series F1: Drive to Survive includes some off-track stuff with the girlfriends. That's probably what got them worldwide attention in the first place.

Slow Horses with Gary Oldman is on my list of 'To Be Watched' on Apple TV+ as well.

It's FANTASTIC.

(I won't bore anyone with the gory details but there's reasons I've been absent lately, and unable to catch anything listed here, none of which are good!)

I didn't think it was going to be very good but just felt like going to the movies. I was sleepy at the start then woke up but the movie kept going and going.
I'm sure Superman will be better. I'm going to try to go next week or next weekend

Of the top 50, the only one I have seen is "Wall-E".

I have issues with the order they ranked a lot of these.
