We go to a theater once or twice a year. There's usually about a half-dozen people in the theater with us.
Same.

Sometimes it's the local IMAX. Sometimes it's the Red River in Concord NH ("the state's only non-profit, full-time cinema committed to showing the best independent and locally made films" .... and now the big ones too).

I saw the Gene Wilder biopic there last year. I saw a documentary there about a Boston radio station (WBCN) a few years back. I now own both on DVD.

My friend had Big Bang Theory on at his house, so I caught about five minutes. Not only was it not a funny show, but the laugh track is obnoxious.
BBT is a live audience, like Friends, Cheers and other shows that get accused of a laugh track all the time. The laugh track that annoyed me the most was when M*A*S*H attempted it.

I'd prefer there be no audience at all, it worked for several shows like The Office (which I couldn't get into), Scrubs (which I liked, but would have liked more if not for Zach Braff) and M*A*S*H when there wasn't one.

The Big Bang Theory was taped before a live audience but every episode used "sweetening." The audience's laughter was augmented with canned laughter. I've seen only five minutes of the show. The laughter was too loud, too annoying, too obnoxious and just plain overwhelming. It is one of several series I couldn't watch because of the loud canned laughter. Why, in the year 2025, do shows still use it?

Interesting. I figured Sheldon Cooper would be right in your wheelhouse.

I wonder if that’s the same thing I saw recently on Peacock. 50 Years of SNL music. It was very good, didn’t linger on performances for very long.
So we renewed our Peacock sub, so we could see what they had on SNL. But also there's other stuff we want to see.

Anyway, on Friday, they had a live show at Radio City hosted by Fallon, with a bunch of musical performances. Everything from Eddie Vedder to Lady Gaga. The entire audience was actors and musicians, many SNL people.

This is different than the documentary they aired on NBC, ironically at the same time on Friday. The live Fallon show had some good moments - like Brandi Carlile, Eddie Vedder, and David Byrne. But it also had some bizarrely bad moments. Bill Murray's bit, Marcus Mumford (who I hate, and he did 2 songs) proving he can't sing Paul Simon. Post Malone was the wrong person to replace Kurt Cobain. Why did Bad Bunny do 2 songs? And Fallon can't stop his annoying fawning and "props".

More thoughts on the SNL concert on Peacock. Jack White was awesome. Cher was good too, as was Bonnie Raitt. Who decided Jelly Roll could (or should) cover Johnny Cash? And while Miley Cyrus is a capable singer, her voice is nearly as annoying as the guy from Nickelback. She didn't do well covering Queen. She should stick to covering Stevie Nicks.

Cyrus drives me nuts with her nasally cigarette voice.
Carlile isn’t my thing, but she crushed it. Great voice.
Malone was meh covering for Kurt. He even forgot some of the lyrics.
Jelly Roll didn’t do great with the Cash stuff either.
Vedder, White, St Vincent, Byrne, & Gaga were solid. And Devo! Hell yes!
The Dick in a Box and other saucy unedited songs were great.

Okay, I don't know what's going on here.

But I got a quick story to tell when I was in rehab. I wanted to see that one show on peacock called teacup. It's like a scary show and so I thought I was buying a month of peacock but I hit the wrong button and I spent $130 and now I've got a year of peacock so that was a big mistake.

Anyway how the fuck do I get Post Malone singing Nirvana and all that shit you guys were talking about because that sounds like something I want to see. I typed in the peacock post Malone Nirvana and it said no results and I typed it into YouTube and it only gave me like people giving commentary. I'm only seeing shit from like 4 or 7 years ago.

Joan Jett was a boss during fire aid with territorial pissings.... I mean if we can't have Kurt the fucking female boss of punk will work

That St. Vincent girl was cool too..... She's pretty fucking awesome. I think I liked her version of breed better than I like Jett's version of pissings.

Also not playing Teen Spirit is very punk.
