Generally if it's someone I like I'll watch it. Chris Farley always got lousy reviews for his movies, but he was one of my favorites. On the other hand, I don't care how well-rated a Seth Rogen movie is, I avoid it like it's the plague.

I figured that Farley fans and Rogen fans were the same people, but apparently not.

If I'm flipping through movies or made-for-TV movies or documentaries or anything I'm not familiar with, for the purpose of giving something a try, I'll give the RT rating a consideration. Actually, I often find a ridiculously high rating (like 98) coincides with me not liking it, because it's too "artsy".

We are in that boat with Dead to Me, the Morning Show, Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Grace and Frankie, the Kominsky Method, Atypical, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Probably some others too.

Farley was hilarious, Rogen does nothing for me. Same with Sandler and Will Ferrell, although Phil Hartman was up there with Farley.

Daylight Savings was extended under his watch.

I'm a big Jesse Plemons fan so I watched it. Yea it was confusing. After I saw it I watched a Youtube video about the book/movie and it gave away what it was all about. Once you know the big mysterious twist then it becomes a lot clearer. Interestingly, when I was watching it I kept thinking it was an adapted play instead of based on a book. It feels like a play. I later listened to one of my movie podcasts and they were saying the same thing so it I guess I'm not the only one who thought that. Oh and the book has a darker ending.

Spoiler: The twist

The whole thing is from the perspective of the school janitor and how he imagines himself as a younger man at different points in his life. It is his fantasy of a relationship he never really had. That's why details like the parents ages and the gf's name changes throughout the movie.

Same here, I watched a YouTube explanation video afterwards.

I was interested because it was written by Charlie Kaufman. He writes crazy clever movies. Adaptation, Being John Malkovich, Synecdoche New York, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I started watching a show that seems pretty good so far.

Raised by Wolves.

Not sure if it's on all HBO or just HBO Max. The Max logo pops up in the beginning of each episode.

Anyway, these two androids go to some other planet to raise human kids. The androids are called Mother and Father. Father is just a regular android but Mother is this super death machine thing that has some really cool ways to kill stuff. And she can fly around. Turns out there was some war on Earth between believers and atheists and the androids were involved somehow. The believers take off on some spaceship and wind up by the planet where Mother and Father are and action ensues.

The pilot starts off somewhat slow but if you're interested wait it out because the end of that episode is action packed and really cool. In the next episode they get into some of the backstory. I'm starting episode 3 now and will likely see this season through.

New take on my old favorite busy work show...Extreme Couponing All Stars!

They have 2 couponers who have been on the OG show compete against each other!

What I've noticed is that a lot of the guys who are couponers on the show are married to women but really seem gay. I wonder if they actually are gay or if the type of male who is an extreme couponer is just naturally effeminate.

I also wonder about the type of male who has spent hours watching the show, but that's for another time.

The couple of minutes I saw walking past the TV was oddly amusing.
I thought they did a decent job of dealing with the weirdness of the situation.

I agree with all of this, and I know that Schitt's Creek is in its final season, but it was really nuts how they were nominated in so many categories, and they won every one of them. At one point, Kimmel said that 1 out of every 4 Canadians had just won an Emmy.
