I'm 6 episodes into DEVS at the moment. It's pretty good and more scifi than I was expecting. However I shouldn't have been surprised. Every episode was written and directed by Alex Garland who did Ex Machina and Annihilation, both movies I love. This show is an above average TV show and I will see it through but I like his movies way better. I think he is best at telling a story in 2-3 hours instead of 8.

Oh yea, and in episode 1 a Seiko Diver's SKX-007 is a major plot point! Very cool, but the character is wearing it on the stock strap, a rookie move.

I think I might go see Tenet in IMAX tonight.

A new Nolan movie is worth catching COVID.

New plan. Tenet is playing at that local, little 5 screen theater I mentioned. It's only 2.2 miles away so I think I'll walk there. That's a 4.4 mile round trip on top of the 4 I did this morning so if I do it I'll set a single day record.

Did you guys know John David Washington is Denzel's kid? He's the same age as me. I had no idea.

I'm going into tenet with very little knowledge of the movie. I know its mind bending and tenet being a palindrome has something to do with it but that's about all. Oh and that it stars Denzel's kid.

I ran out of 90 Days: The Other Way episodes so I moved on to 90 Days: Happily Ever After.

I'm only on the first episode but this one guy is talking about how he got his gf/wife arrested 3 times for domestic violence. That got me wondering what it would take for me to call the cops on a girl. I'm pretty sure it would have to involve her coming at me with a knife or gun. Other than that I suppose I could fend off things. I had a gf once who liked to throw heels at me when she was mad. It wasn't hard to dodge cause she threw like a girl...I guess that's the closest I've ever come to domestic violence and I don't think it even counts.

I saw him in Ballers, noticed the last name, and he looked a lot like Denzel. Quick IMDB search confirmed it..jpg

Do you guys take movie reviews into consideration before you choose to watch a movie? Like if it gets a 94 on rotten tomatoes, I'll likely watch it, but if it gets a 37, no thanks.

Or avoid a movie because of the name?
The Peanut Butter Falcon -???

But then that movie gets a 96 on rotten tomatoes, so I probably should consider watching it. I'm so conflicted.

Generally if it's someone I like I'll watch it. Chris Farley always got lousy reviews for his movies, but he was one of my favorites. On the other hand, I don't care how well-rated a Seth Rogen movie is, I avoid it like it's the plague.

I just saw PBF, it's on Prime right now. It was quite good and sweet to see boof and the mental guy be friends.

If I hear about a movie being great or fun from friends or one of my movie podcasts I will watch it no matter the ratings. Same goes for certain directors. But for random movies I usually check RT and Metacritic and the rating makes a difference to me somewhat. For TV, RT sucks. It seems everything they rate TV wise is either amazing or awful, there's no in between.
