I did it. Watched all 100 movies on that list!

Birth of a Nation was so darn long and racist. Was hard to watch. As a relic piece of art though, it had its merits.

I didn't expect to like the Charlie Chaplin silent films, but I actually did enjoy them.

Some of the musicals were my least favorite.
That's some kind of dedication! But I have mixed feelings about forcing yourself to watch entertainment that isn't entertaining. You need to discuss this with Memebag.

I know what you mean. A few of those movies I didn't particularly enjoy, but also there were a few movies I had no temptation to watch, but they turned out great.

Parasite was very good. Maybe I was too hyped going in but I wouldn't call it best of the year...not even sure it will make my top 5 of 2019 but it's def. worth watching. It's a comedy and a thriller. It gets kinda bonkers about half way through then totally bonkers in the last act.

It's really just a long story about the class system in South Korea.
I'm quoting you from last year. I watched Parasite this week. Thought it was great. Yeah, didn't expect it to go in that direction...

Also saw The Irishman. Awesome movie also. All the classic gangster movie actors, DeNiro, Pacino, Harvey Keitel, Joe Pesci.

And finally, for the first time... saw The Exorcist. I'm not sure what this says about me... but I enjoyed it a lot.

The Irishman was good.

First time seeing The Exorcist? Wow, that must have been fun.

I haven't seen Parasite yet, but the others were great.
The Irishman could have been just as good if it was 45 minutes shorter.

Watched a few movies over the past few days. They went from ok to good to great.

OK - Greyhound (2020)
Tom Hanks plays a naval captain during WWII being pursued by U-Boats while trying to lead a convoy of ships to England to drop off supplies. It was fine, Tom is always fun to watch, but not a great war movie. No need to check it out unless you have nothing else to watch.

A neat thing about it though is that is was going to be a big summer release but COVID happened so Apple+ paid a ton of money to get it on their service.

Good - As the Palaces Burn (2014)
This was a solid doc about the band Lamb of God. Not my type of music but that doesn't matter. So what happens is (I'm not giving anything away that isn't in the trailer) the band was going to play in Prague and as they get off the plane the lead singer gets arrested because 2 years earlier some kid got up on stage and when he jumped or was pushed off he bumped his head and died a few days later. Seeing what happens with the trial was very interesting.

BTW/you can watch this one free on Tubi.

Great - Doctor Sleep (2019)
I had zero hopes for this going in. Trying to make a sequel to a Kubrick movie is nuts. Yet it turned out to be awesome! It doesn't try to have the same feel as The Shining and manages to to have its own unique creepy vibe. At the end it gets a little heavy handed with The Shining references but overall I loved it. It was spooky but not slasher gross. I also LOVED how they didn't digitally de-age the OG actors and brought in new actors to play the characters from the original. It was very good and I will likely watch it again.

Fun fact - there is a little league baseball playing kid in the movie and at one point it cuts to his dad...The guy who plays his dad is the same guy who played Danny in the original movie. The guy isn't really an actor. The Shining was his first role and including Doctor Sleep he has only been in 3 movies, so that was cool.

The Walt Disney Company lost nearly $5 billion in the last quarter. They can recoup that money if 167,000,000 people pay $29.99 to see Mulan. 他们能做到吗?

I mentioned the new NBC service Peacock (hehe, cock) awhile ago and how they have a free tier. They have 2 other paid tiers: with ads and without. If you have Comcast or some other cable services you get the with-ads paid option for free. The paid tiers also has some extra programing.

They have a couple original series and I'm watching one now called Brave New World. The star is the super hot daughter from Downton Abbey, Jessica Brown Findlay and it's about this future utopian city. However outside the city is the regular world and the utopians take tours of the savage lands for fun. The savages put on shows for the utopians to show them an exaggerated version of things like marriage, jail, pregnancy, Black Friday and so on. And then things go wrong.

The first episode was ok but the second episode really stepped things up. That's as far as I am so far but I'm likely going to see this season through.

Oh and Demi Moore is in it. Even playing a savage she's still hot. I always group Moore and Bullock together since they were both 90's leading ladies. They likely both have had work done but Moore still looks attractive and normal while Bullock looks like she's had 1 (or maybe 15) too many facelifts.

I'm finally getting around to watching Ozark. We're only about 5 episodes in now, but it's not bad.

I've been watching Turn while I'm on the treadmill. It's OK. it's an interesting twist on the whole spy thing.

The badass curly haired blonde girl is the best part of Ozark. I dig that show.

I liked Turn enough to see it through while it was airing on AMC but I doubt I'll ever rewatch it. By the last season I kinda felt obligated to get to the finale since I had watched it for so long...not really the best sign that I was loving it. It was fine though.
