saw civil war today. my first theater visit this month. its was fine but nowhere near as good as i expected from all the reviews. the clear highlight for me was the new spiderman. i like that actor in the role. he actually seems like a kid which is how spiderman is supposed to feel. hes 19 irl but does a good job playing 15 or so. im now looking forward to seeing his standalone movie.
another major highlight was THE DEAN! dean pelton, aka jim rash, was in the very beginning of the movie as a type of dean of MIT!!! his official character title is "M.I.T. Liaison" but i like to think they cast him to reprise his role as the dean!

Watched Zoolander 2 last night.
Sooooo glad it was free on Amazon. I didn't think it would be worth renting, but I want to charge Ben Stiller the $5 for making me suffer through it.

The 2nd trailer for the reboot Ghostbusters came out about a day ago and once again more dislikes then likes on youtube.
i thought it was an all female cast...whats lawernce taylor doing as a ghostbuster?

i just saw Hail, Caesar! today. what a pleasant surprise! i knew it was coen brothers so thats usually a good sign but it came out in like jan or feb which is a well known dumping ground for studios to release their shitty movies. this was great! a really nice, lite comedy with some great acting and truly beautiful sets. if you missed this one its well worth checking out.
So, I saw Captain America Civil War. It was good. I haven't see too many of the CA or Averngers films. Might try & catch up on them soon

I saw "Money Monster" last Sunday at the Alamo. I wasn't expecting much, and my expectations were met. It starts out OK, but I felt like it had to pull its punches because it stars George Clooney and Julia Roberts. They are big time movie stars the way old movie stars were big time movie stars. The audience has to have sympathy for them even when it shouldn't, and they always have to look terrific.
i thought this was a good article about the summer movies all the big studios have their futures tied to.

The new Top Gear premiered in the US last night. It was horrible. I couldn't make it through the whole thing. Chris Evans is annoying and Matt LeBlanc is boring. Sabine Schmitz was the high point of the show. Everything else was the low point.
