I forgot to mention that on Christmas day, we watched National Lampoon's Vacation and Fargo. I have some questions about Fargo: how did Macy's character get into so much debt in the first place? And what was the significance of the guy who had a crush on McDormand's character?

I saw "Manchester by the Sea" last night because it was the least offensive sounding option at the Alamo.

Ugh. A bunch of regular Joes with big feelings struggling not to feel them and telling people to fuck off and punching them for over two hours. Not my cup of tea. But it makes me aware of how irregular a Joe I am.

The major events that occurred in the movie involves a lot more than "regular stuff", but I agree the movie doesn't live up to the praise it's getting.

That actually might have helped it. If Casey Affleck's punches killed mortals thenhis boorish behavior would have had some real consequences.
