That free climber guy may die live on Netflix tonight.
View attachment 11633

Alex Honnold, that climbed El Capitan in "Free Solo", is climbing Taipei 101 tonight on a live TV.
Well, nearly live. I think that there is a 9 second delay or something.
First, I thought it would be boring, Then I couldn't watch out of fear he would fall but then turned it back on. He made it in around 1 hr 45 minutes. Then I was afraid when he was standing on the top taking selfie. I guess that would have made him the world tallest man too. He didn't have to climb back down which I've heard that's when some people die on Mt Everest is going back down. All and all, I hope he feels furfilled now and will settle down to the ground

Yeah, we watched. He made it look easier than I thought that it would look.
H made really good time.

I'm glad that he didn't plummet to his death, but I'm sure that he's going to come up with another stunt to test his limits again.

We just got back from seeing "Mercy". My kiddie combo was $8 but I had $5 snack cash to spend. I thought it was good.
It was like S.E.A.R.C.H, Swat ,Speed, Perry Mason, You Tube Police Videos and AI all rolled into one. Very graphic.

I will also claim it as my first official 2026 release seen at the theater in 2026.

Yes.

What about you? Your movie opinions probably carry more weight than all of ours put together around here.

I thought it was the perfect cherry on top of a movie that was full of painfully tense, anger inducing, fear of the unknown and indecision.

Like I said, I hate and love this movie. In the moment I hated everything about most of it. Having a few hours to reflect I think it was the perfect ending to my favorite movie of 2025.

Bigelow is way better than her ex these days. One of them is making me feel things movies rarely, if ever, make me feel. The other is remixing Dances with Wolves with blue Indians every few years.

The ending of House of Dynamite left me feeling

My wife and I made it to the Tuesday Special and saw "H is for Hawk". I wanted to see this one because I like to watch the neighborhood hawks soaring the skies in the summer. The movie was in theater 12 which we never been in before. I enjoyed it thoroughly and there was a pretty good crowd considering attendance has been low nationwide.

I also started the first episode of "Pluribus" on Apple. It looks pretty crazy. I will keep going but want to watch late at night to get the full thrill

We had watched Spinal Tap 2 Saturday night.
I thought that it was pretty decent.
This was one of 3 movies I watched on the plane. It was pretty good. Had some LOL moments. And the Paul and Elton cameos were good.

I should add that the movie was bittersweet, because of the loss of Rob Reiner.

The other ones were F1 the Movie and The Roses. The F1 movie had a story line a little different than I expected. Let's just say that IRL, legendary Renault team owner Flavio Briatore was banned from F1 for life, for doing what Pitt did in the movie. I still feel it's a better movie for people not familiar with F1.

The Roses was pretty entertaining. And with the architect angle, I wonder if Hectic has seen it. Also, the SNL cast member cameos were good.

F1 the Movie
It was better than I expected. Not a typical sport movie.
The Roses was pretty entertaining.
We enjoyed it.
I thought tat the first building that he did was kinda dumb. (At least the part that drove the plot.) The rest of it wasn't too bad.
The second building was pretty good.
I thought that the details that he was obsessing over were pretty funny. I got a good chuckle out of some of that stuff.
the SNL cast member cameos were good.
They usually are.

For the Tuesday Special Movie today I saw "Send Help" with Rachel McAdams. It was a nice day to go. And I did not pay for anything. I used my gift card to buy my $6 admission, my free popcorn was free and I used my $5 snack cash and the gift card for my $3 Hot dog and my $7 soda. I went alone and I am feeling more comfortable going to a movie alone especially during the week in the afternoon. I've been doing this now for close to a year. The movie was pretty good, better than I thought it would be. It had lots of twists and turns and was not like "Lost" at all. The only issue was that after the movie ended all the restrooms were closed for repair. Not good for a Senior. I had to go to the nearby Costco.

I think I will pass next week and target on seeing the Margaret Qualley movie at the end of the month as my next Tuesday movie.

At home, I am moving along pretty good with Pluribus. I've been watching an episode every other night. I still have not given up on Star Fleet Academy.
And I still have a hold on Stranger Things and The Morning Show. I might hold until April as I decided after all to watch every game of the Ncaa Basketball Tournament again which will give me a sore butt.
