Everybody knows movie theatres are the best place to be in a hurricane.
Ones with good food, beer and movies are. I had a Hatch green chile burger and a Saint Arnold Art Car.

I know a lot of people are suffering around here right now but I'm mostly focused on the showing of "King of Comedy" tonight. It's one of my favorite films and I will be so disappointed if it is canceled for this storm.

Neill Blomkamp's wife (who wrote D9 so she clearly knows what she's doing) is making this into a movie. I stumbled upon it by searching for Apocalypse Now when I was looking into my top 10 movies. She made a short to generate buzz and it looks pretty good to me.

And speaking of Neill, I posted a short he made a couple months ago. Turns out he has some youtube channel where he makes lots of shorts.

I'm currently watching Wonder Woman and the movie is pretty good. But feels like DC ripped off Marvel Captain America, where they are fighting the Nazis.

No wonder why, DCEU can't get there movies together. Even though this is the best movie of the series.

I think she was fighting in WWI so it wasn't Nazis. But I'm not sure because the movie was so boring and stupid I tuned out after like 15 mins. I'm not a fan of most Marvel movies but Wonder Woman makes them looks like Kubrickian masterpieces. I have no idea how WW was so highly rated. I'd give it a 1/5. Gadot is amazingly hot and that was the only good part. I don't see how this was any better than Batman v Superman. Another new era DC movie that was complete trash. Yet this was in the 90's and BvS was in 20's on RT.

I'm going to Logan Lucky this morning.

Good way to spend the final NFL free Sunday on 2017. Have fun! :D

I'm not interested in a history lesson, but I saw them fighting the Germans. I first thought the Nazis, seems like they are in almost every movie now Marvel, DC and even the last Transformers. But anyway, I thought the movie was fantastic. It had it slow parts, and most of the Gal Gadot just moves her arms around to bounce bullets off tem. But I would give the movie a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

I don't know any Stanley Kubrick films, I just looked him up and I recognize a few movies 2001, Shining andFull Metal Jacket. Personally Gadot is pretty, I don't know about hot? But again I'm gay and most guys would't be interested in which guys I would find hot, so I keep that to myself.

I'm not a comic book nerd, but I'm really into these superhero films and this was the 4th installment of the DCEU and so far it's the best one. The only DECU movies coming out left is Justice League, Augaman and they can't get anything next off the ground. Now for Marvel, each one is a grand slam out of the ballpark! Wait until Ragnarok and Infinity War comes out, it will be like Jack Kirby comic books artwork throwing up on the big screen.

Last weekend Memegirl and I saw"Patti Cake$". We both enjoyed it. It's a standard plot (poor kid dreams of being a big star) told very well. The music is good enough to convince the audience she's actually good.

Yesterday I saw "Miracle Mile", one of my favorite 1980s movies. Then "Timecop" which is horrible except for specific ways the villain prefigures Trump.

Then I saw "Cherry 2000". I've seen this on late night cable listings and ignored it because it sounded like soft core porn. It isn't. It's an amazing movie directed by the same guy that directed "Miracle Mile" and written by the guy that wrote and directed "Twister" (the interesing one). In the future, sex with real women will be a legal hassle. Sexbots will be a better option except we forgot how to make new ones and have to get them from buried Las Vegas that's owned by a psycho motivational speaker with lots of sandwiches. And Ben Johnson and Harry Carey Jr. are in it.

Then I saw "Rollerball". Houston! Houston! Houston!

Today I saw "Dawn of the Dead". Fantasitic film. The 1970s mall is perfectly documented. So is the 1970s ennui.

Netflix has been going through some changes lately now.

https://decider.com/2017/03/24/fox-shows-expiring-from-netflix-in-april/

Disney to end movie deal with Netflix and start its own streaming services

They have been spending tons of money trying to produce original content, hopefully Netflix knows what they are doing and won't go under.

Netflix May Be About to Slow Down Their Spending on New Content - Cord Cutters News

Recently Netflix has been spending crazy amounts of money on content. In 2017 it is reported that it will spend $6,000,000,000 on new content alone with 2018 looking to have similar spending.

Now we get our first hint that in the future Netflix may slow down its spending.

Netflix CFO David Wells spoke today at a Goldman Sachs investor conference and said Netflix could possibly become more budget constrained in the future; however, as long the company is able to grow the top-line and operating margin, it will continue to invest in content.

Saw IT tonight. Scared the bejebas out of me. I hadn't read the book so everything was surprising. I may read the book now. My wife says they captured a lot of his layers in the movie.

Not sure I am happy it was filmed in Toronto.
