This tells you all you need to know about everyone you work with. I'll start off with the people that didn't reply because they're not one of these bullet points...
If you didn't reply, you're a normal worker. You realized something was a little bit weird that it went to everybody, even if you thought you would have been one of the inner circle to get the OG invite and you just left it alone.
The sender realized his mistake and send another mail to the entire bank retratcting the invitaton.
Yeah, what else can the guy do at this point? He's got to stick his tail between his legs and send that embarrassing email. In the grand scheme of things it's not that bad.
I've said shit on my work phone to co-workers that I trust that would totally get me fired If everybody heard it . This was just an honest mistake
Several people asked if they counld bring anything.
This is awkward now. If any of those people who replied offering to bring shit were not actually intended to get the OG invitation, the guy now has to just put them on the guest list. There's no polite way to tell them they were not originally intended to be invited.....
Attempting that is like the premise of a Curb Your enthusiasm episode. In real life, those awkward situations Larry gets himself in are not nearly as funny.
Some people asked what was included.
Yeah fuck these people. There is no shame in straight up uninviting these assholes. But I guess if you're doing it via work email you have to send out like a polite individual email to all of them explaining how the whole thing was. A big misunderstanding.
But if any of these people work side by side with me I would keep a note of that like. Oh yeah these are the selfish ones.
Several people made joking replies about either the BBQ or the retraction of the invitation.
These people probably should have done nothing. You don't want to send emails even if they're direct emails with your company email address being a little too casual and busting balls a little too much like I don't know that shit ain't professional and it's not cool.
I get what these guys are going for but they should have busted his balls at the water cooler not through email.
- Several people asked that everybody stop replying to the e-mail.
- Some people asked the people asking people to stop replying to also stop replying.
These are the village idiots. All right, so just be happy that this mistake turned into a social experiment that weeded out the morons in the office.
If I were the boss and whoever was above me told me I needed to make some cuts. These people would be on my list to consider first.
