Joker! Joker! Joker!
Welcome to the 811th edition of Who Am I?, the weekly game where I dish out a daily clue to a subject and you have to guess who or what it is.

Every day, the clues get easier. The winner of this week's game gets a piece of my gratitude.

This week's subject is a THING.

CLUE #1: I was founded in the 2010s.

What do you call a ride that sounds like it should help you lift something, but instead takes you to Taco Bell at 2 a.m.?

Answer: Lyft

Answer: Lyft
"I don't have a car; I need a lift to school." It's that kind of lift.

If anything makes no sense, it's "Uber".

Über means "over" or "above" in German. In English, it is almost always spelled without the diaeresis and is used as an adjective meaning "super" or "extremely": "He is an uber-dork." "That word is uber-annoying." Garrett Camp and Travis Kalanick launched UberCab in 2009. The name implied that UberCab is superior to other similar services. The name was shortened to Uber in 2010. In 2014, they launched the food delievery service UberFRESH. It became UberEats in 2015.

My guess: Zoom Communications, founded in 2011 as SaaSbee ("Software as a Service"). People can now have meetings without wearing any pants.

Annapurna Pictures, founded by the daughter of Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison and named after a mountain in Nepal.
Congratulations, Channel98!

This week's subject was Annapurna Pictures, founded in 2011 by Megan Ellison, the daughter of billionaire Larry Ellison. And yes, it was named for a mountain in the Himalayas which she visited in 2005.

Annapurna quickly became a respected independent media company with titles like "Zero Dark Thirty", "American Hustle", "Vice", and the recent "The Invite".

Of course, Megan's dad and brother own both Paramount and Warner Bros now under their Skydance umbrella.

New game next week!
