The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines "landlocked" as "1. enclosed or nearly enclosed by land: a landlocked country 2. confined to fresh water by some barrier: landlocked salmon 3. living or located away from the ocean: a landlocked sailor"

There are 44 landlocked countries: 16 in Africa, 14 in Europe, 12 in Asia and two in South America. For our next DRC Madness, we could vote on our favorite landlocked countries.
