In my opinion he's not that screwed-up. But being associated with such a severely troubled addict may have scared him away from being comfortable with any new person on the show.

yeah, but billy didn't have to put up with howard's bullshit if he didn't want to. that guy was already doing voice work by the time he was getting done with stern, and he was likely being much better compensated for doing so. I'm willing to bet that the m&m's commercials alone paid more than what he made his entire tenure with howard.

Billy is smart too. When it came to "Futurama," he said he voiced Fry as his own voice because it would be more difficult to replace him.
