"Survey says": We could vote for our favorite television game shows. I really liked Dotto (which very few people remember), Camouflage (which very few people remember) and Family Feud (which I enjoy playing along with).

Originally there was going to four themes a year. But with CDT taking a slot each year. I rearrange some months and able to squeeze in an extra theme. If this works out going forward five themes a year. Here is the updated 2025 Madness theme schedule so far:

January - DRC Madness #38: 2025 Celebrity Death Thread
March/April - DRC Madness #34: Artists/Bands That Aren't In The RRHOF Yet
June - DRC Madness #35: ???
August - DRC Madness #36: ???
October/November - DRC Madness #37: Fictional Horror Movie Characters
January 2026 - DRC Madness #38: 2025 Celebrity Death Thread

The 2025 CDT voting will be posted in the Celebrity death thread 2025

I want to keep Madness #37 as that theme, since it was missed last year and pretty much all the characters were set with some plus or minus some.

Since Jeopardy is the only game show that has its own thread on DRC, I assume it would win.

I like some of your suggestions.

Historical dictators - I think memebag tried to get this one nominated? It could be interesting as long we stay away from the political area.

Best vacation destination - We sort of did this one as Tourist Destinations, which New Orleans won. DRC Madness #20

Best video game console - Don't believe their are enough consoles to fill a 64 bracket. Maybe better as a mini-madness.

The Music Mini-Madness was a bit of a hit. I have been thinking of the next one but possibly having alternative versions down the road. I don't want to post them separately in couple different threads sections all the time. Maybe moving the music mini-madness to the studio lounge just as Mini-Madness.

Don't recall if this was ever a suggested theme in the past. I was thinking sometime down the road of having a Soda/Pop Madness War. The finals might be obvious, Coco-Cola vs. Pepsi. But they have hundreds of other soft drink flavors and rival companies like 7up, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, Tab, Mountain Dew, Barq's, Mr. Pipp, etc. and I would include the other flavors like Mountain Dew Code Red, Voltage, etc. or possibly this could be a future mini-madness which another one will start sometime later this month.

In 1972 the Coca-Cola Company introduced Peppo, a cherry vanilla soda similar to Dr Pepper. After Dr Pepper sued for trademark infringement (even though "Peppo" does not sound like "Dr Pepper"), the soda was renamed Mr. Pibb. In 2001, cinnamon was added and it became Pibb Xtra.

In 1998, Teri and I bought a tan-colored shih-tzu. We have a huge collection of Coca-Cola items so we named him after a Coca-Cola product: Mr. Pibb. We thought it was a cute name. When Pibb Xtra came out, Teri said we should get another shih-tzu and name him Pibb Xtra. Some day I may do that. I have a shih-tzu/poodle mix which Teri named Meetoo, as if when we start to leave without her, the dog will say "Me too!"

Here is a 1980 Mr. Pibb commercial. I think it was inspired by The Brady Bunch.

I imagine Pepsi CEO Roger Enrico decided, "Let's not pay someone to write an original, clever, catchy, memorable jingle. Let's just buy the rights to a Van Halen song and use it instead."

That is absolutely adorable. If I walked into a house and learned their dog is named Mr Pibb, I'd give them a round of applause. I love it!

As for me, I drink the Zevia brand cola. Sweetened with stevia root.

It’s madness, remember the beer one, we ended up with a random brew made by monks in Belgium, a really taste brew I’m sure. But the winner might surprise us so I’d like a madness on that.
