We had a '75 Monte Carlo that had an 8-track player in it.
In 1993, I was on my fourth? fifth? sixth? used car. This one had an 8-track. At first I was like, "Where the fudge am I gonna find 8-tracks?" My landlord happened to have a small pile of them. I grabbed the only two I could stand. I forget the first one, but the other was the J Geils album with the grammatical nightmare "Must Of Got Lost". So any time I couldn't find a decent song on the radio, I played that song to fill the gap between more channel surfing.
Here are the songs on the album:
Perhaps a better title would have been "Music to torture people with"

Stolen but edited from Facebook this morning:

On this day in 2000 I married Mrs. IRBS. The day was cool — the only cool day in a very hot summer. But it didn’t rain. The ceremony was wonderful and we did our reception on a boat on the Toronto harbour. The captain was drunk but we it was a good party for all.
On this day in 2001 I surprised Mrs. IRBS with a night in a suite at the Royal York Hotel, The hotel was a place Mrs. IRBS had wanted to stay ever since she came to Toronto.
On this day in 2017 we saw Donnie & Marie Osmond (a favourite of Mrs. IRBS) at Casino Rama.
On this day in 2020 we enjoyed 4 days in Owen Sound and surrounding area.
On this day in 2023 Mrs. IRBS was bedridden but we hosted friends and family at our apartment.

We celebrated this day in some form every year, Missing you this year Mrs. IRBS.
Below is our wedding recessional song.

I've noted that we're approaching a sad anniversary (as it happens to fall on my birthday), and as sorrowful as it is, you've handled yourself so well (as much as I can tell as an observer on an internet forum). It's nice to have you share some of the highlights.
Yes, this week will be a tough one.

Mrs. IRBS is back in the hospital now. Her right arm ballooned in size and turned dark blue. She was also havin trouble breathing.

I got the call I did not want to get today. They are starting 'end-of-life' treatment. This is her choice. They will make her comfortable but regular treatment will stop as it was not effective and was contradictory, They are giving her 1-2 days to live. I will spend most of my time by her side. Will be back on when I can. Please say a prayer for her,

My wife passed away this morning @ 6:25 AM EDT. I was lucky enough to be at her side when she did. It was peaceful. I miss her so much. I thought I was prepared. I am not.

This was a year ago today that my wife passed. Last year I was lucky enough to be awoken prior to 6:25AM in order to be by her side when she passed. This year I was awoken at 6:25AM as well. One can blame that on the bladder but the timing in both cases is too co-incidental. When I posted this on Facebook, my daughter also said she was awoken @ 6:25AM this year and last year as well. The forces in the universe work in mysterious ways.

I still miss her deeply and almost daily. She will always be a part of my heart.

I experienced that last summer with my father-in-law.
This is a little non-sequitur. Just need to correct myself. It was my step-father who passed in the summer of 2022. I was trying to see if I'd ever posted about my quadriplegic father-in-law (for an upcoming post I'm about to make) and found this mistake.

I am enroute to Columbus, OH to visit family. But it is more than that. I am going to do the stuff I did with Mrs. IRBS. See her sights. See her dead relatives. Relive her memories. A closure of sorts for me. The family will also get visited.

Spending the first night in the glorious city of Toledo. Gonna have supper with a local architect.

I made it to Columbus. I took a route out of Toledo once suggested by Mrs. IRBS. She would always say "let's explore". It was not the most direct route but was a nice scenic route. Taking it reminded me of her. I let Apple also make a route suggestion once we had rejoiined the normal route and entered Columbus through Dublin (technically the hotel is in Dublin). Mrs. IRBS would also have approved the route choice.

Great that you and Hectic got to hang out.
In the absence of visiting with Hectic, would it have been quicker to get to Columbus by going South of Erie instead of North of Erie?

It is almost exactly the same distance. I prefer the north route as it avoids the QEW.
