That's cool that you met Stephen Stills. I met Morphine at an Airport in Denmark once. They were shocked that anybody recognized them.

They were awesome. Sort of underground or at least under the radar. Drums, sax and the bass player played a 2 string bass.

They said that they hadn't really been recognized before. To be recognized that far from home had them slightly weirded out I think.

The singer died in 2000 I think, so unfortunately they are no more.

Yeah, I was crushed when he died. Awesome band. I did get to see them in Chicago once. Crazy awesome show. If you like em, buy a cd or 2. The band is making sure the singers kids are getting taken care of.

Bottom line it doesn't matter if we like these changes Sirius XM is going to do what they are going to do. I do prefer the limited run channels. Like right now Neil Diamond on Sirius Love I am enjoying the hell out of it. Do, I want it on for over a week. Hell NO!

Sirius clearly makes money off these channels and so regardless of our complaints they will continue to do this.

Everyone: I heard a second (or third) hand rumor that the channel could be around for a year. I don't know how solid the rumor is.

The stuff like last kiss, given to fly, wishlist, nothingman, and the likes. Just not my cup of tea. For me, they are just a lot more effective when they are fired up about something.

They aren't saying it's temporary. It's payola bullshit. I can think of about 100 other rock artists that desreve a channel before Pearl Jam. Notice I said rock artist....they would never dream of giving a non rock artist their own channel for that long....come of it, they've never even attempted to give any artist that isn't Caucasian even a temporary channel and of course they first put genres that have predominately black artists on the chopping block first!

Be honest.....a Pearl Jam channel (or any white mediocre single rock act channel) is going to bring in subcribers? Do I think the Strobe will? No, not on it's own but even the BEST music channels won't on their own. It's variety that was SO impressive about Sirius (and XM) at the start and that is DIMINISHING anything they make a change. They never really add...they just take away. And I wouldn't really have any huge desire for a single channel of my favorite act. Why? I have ALL their released recordings (not the bootlegs....but since my favorite act is Prince, I doubt he would ever allow any kind of channel like this and they CERTAINLY wouldn't be allowed to play ALL the bootlegs). It's ridiculous. it's a lot easier for Pearl Jam fans put Pearl Jam on shuffle on their Ipod then to SERIOUSLY try to access an entire genre of music that in some cases is hard to find! The only way they are making money is PROBABLY through payola. Way to take it to the man, Eddie Vedder.
 
Pearl Jam Radio has added a 1 hour show on Wednesday's at 5PM EST.

Its hosted by Tim B and someone called The Rob. Wednesday the 17th was the first show.. It was pretty good, they took calls answered questions to the best of their ability.. Played songs off the up coming release of Live on Ten Legs (January 2011). They said they will have a topics on the up coming programs.
If your a PJ fan you will like it..I enjoyed learning "how" they come up with the set lists and what the bands favorite area's to play in are..stuff like that.

Yesterday on my ride home I heard Eddie Vedder and Natalie Maines' duet from the WM3 benefit concert and a cover of Public Image. Both of these songs were new for me to hear..
